So quick update. Went in on tuesday to have the first part of the work done. I must confess I did consider changing my mind...

But 12 injections, a bone implant and multiple holes later I walked out with the implant.

The worst part was the injections behind th gum, I had 3 fr, 3 rear, wait 5 minutes 3 front and 3 rear. The first set of 3 rear did smart a fair bit and I may have sworn.

Having the bone thing done was nothing, having the holes drilled was nothing - 13mm deep by 4.7mm wide. He drilled a pilot hole and then enlarged it 4 times (so 5 lots of drilling) and then screwed the implant into my jaw, screwed the implant cap on and replaced the square of skin he removed to do the implant, ssewed me up and job done.

All a bit weird, the screwing of the implant into my jar took a fair amount of torque (or should I say talk...) and is a bloody tight fit.

Face is still swollen today and I am in bit of discomfort.

But the procedure is less painful than having a filling done and didn;t take long at all. I think I was actually in the chair for less than an hour.
