I think a RHD conversion would be too expensive.

Think I'm going to start a new thread on 'reasons NOT to buy a LHD'.

I'm totally stumped now. It makes sense to bye an import if I don't want a ton of welding to do and I don't want to pay £1000's for an immaculate restored RHD one mainly because I haven't got £1000's to spend.

Thanks everyone.

I could price it up for you if you are interested. :D

Hi. Sorry.

Just got back from Cuba.

I've had loads of fantastic advice and now I can't see a problem with a lefty. However, no doubt I may be requiring someone with your talents in the future. Where are you in the country?

Phil

You said youve seen perfect buses for 10K!!
Thats either far from perfect or just very very cheap.

I love my Californian LHD import, only needed a battery tray and the patina is so much cooler than new paint, there's something special about getting an honest, un-molested bus.

Whatever you get you will end up spending money on it - but with an import it will probably be "mechanical" stuff (engine, gearbox, brakes, suspension) rather than bodywork. Which for me was the ideal opportunity to upgrade the Single Port to a 1776 lump and bolt-on a 1303s gearbox :D

Found a RHD one within budget. Looks ok. Bit rough around the edges but MOT til march so plenty of time to sort it out.

Cool you won't regret getting a RHD. :)

I have a leftie & my wife can't drive. Perfect combo.

Even if she had a licence though.... No-one drives my bus ever except me

Hi, I've just registered my 1970 Deluxe which came from Oregon, super solid and it didn't take long to get used to driving a lefty. I paid 6k and although needs some work on the interior, is an honest bus.

Like your thinking I have retro fitted seats that are slightly higher and my wife can't reach the pedals  Saves any hassle/worry/insurance claims :msn4: etc
