How much

How much would shipping be (£500 to £1000)

Now that would be a good project for someone

How much profit are some of these companies who import these (I know the ones they usually import are better nick) making :?:

damn i hate seeing people getting ripped off

Shipping would be around £1300-1500 depending on where about it is and howm much it costs to get it to the port...

I bought my Aug 67 Westy off ebay about 7 months ago for a whole $227.50(£125) it ended up costing dead on £1500 including fuel to drive down and pick it up from the docks. I only bought it really because i was desperate for something to ship because i had loads of coolers and stuff at the shippers and needed something to put them in :D i had no idea of the build date or the condition really as the ebay pics were *****... as it happens it turned out to be prossibly the earliest tintop westy in existance and the only rust is in the front panel and cab floor...

result!

I must say the above was a one off and it's not for sale so no profit will be made...

every other Bay i've bought has been off the samba and has cost between $2000-5000. there is often reasonable profit in it but it is also very risky as how ever experienced you are photos can hide a lot of ****... luckily so far i haven't been caught out much on early bays so far but i best not speak too soon as i have 2 more arriving next week

i'm definately not getting rich from it(ask my accountant) but i do get imence pleasure supplying people who appreciate them... nice clean rust free buses :D

Result MS 8)

Makes you think tho', but I don't have £2K plus to get a good one :? - assuming you can get a good un for $1K.

Shall I sell mine for £3-4K, go over and bring one (or more )back - probably better nick and worth more
and still have change :?:

Yeah possibly but nice early bays are dying out fast on the sambe, and ask any dealer in the states... they are getting harder and harder to find. if you go out there for a week you'll be lucky to actually come across a good deal even if you travel non stop... America's a fecking huge place

MS , you are a spoil sport - how to shatter my dreams :(

Ah well, back to reality, pass me the grinder :D

When I came to buy one, I considered the Samba/Self Import option, but essentially bottled it. I took a much lower risk by getting mine, essentially unseen, from KnK ... but I knew at worst case I could just 'take it back'.
Fair play for the dealers for taking the gambles for us, they must get stung now and again and have to take it on the chin.

The daft thing for me is that Id spent a nearly a month in So Cal just before I bought mine, and it was partly seeing them in a certain 'style' over there that made me search out mine .... I decided to get one when I got home. Doh!
