Readvertised - VW Type 2 Early Bay Bus Camper. LHD California model registered in Jan 1968 and imported to uk in 1997. Famous patina bus on hydraulics featured in T2D 'live' build at 2009 BugJam and well known on here. Ultimate head turning and well sorted reliable bay window bus camper with great spec. and original dark red paintwork patina'd (possibly one of the best examples anywhere) with contrasting roof, wheel and and bumpers repainted in oem VW off white.
Full Rayvern hydraulic suspension conversion by Type 2 Detectives. Remote control on key or switches in cab running off leisure battery. Chassis tubbed and notched front and rear allowing bus to sit on chassis rails and can be raised/lowered to any ride height for driving. Exposed hydraulic actuators/springs installed in rear cabin area and visible operation when driving. Hydraulic pump in buddy seat with second slave battery.
Fitted with SSP Porsche fuchs 15" rims (5.5" rear 4.5 front) painted in off white to match roof and bumpers. with re-drilled and re- studded 5x130 rear to take rims. Porsche 944 front brake conversion with twin remote servos mounted under rock & roll bed.
Brand new 18 months old VW Heritage SSP1776 engine (new & not exchange) covered just over 3000 miles from new. Fitted cogbox rebuilt 3-rib gearbox. Built to 2 litre spec with tall 4th gear for comfortable cruising with Kennedy stage 1 clutch and longer 100mm long clutch arm (clutch action feels like std.). Geneberg shifter. New genuine twin 40 weber carbs on CSP inlets with CSP throttle linkage. Electric fuel pump and malpassi pressure regulator.
Full flow oil system and cooling with remote thermostat, radiator and fan. Never runs hot and fitted with electric oil temperature gauge in cab.
Vintage Speed full exhaust system with beetle type twin pipe outlet.
Deano Bradley westy towbar with working 7-pin electrics socket.
Chassis tubbed and notched front and rear. Engine, gearbox r and steering box raised with skid plate under gearbox/engine. Ten (10") inch narrowed one off link pin inside beam. adjustable spring plated to rear and drop spindles at the front.
Internally, it has recently covered driver and passenger seats, '68 dash with baseball stitching, wooden porsche steering wheel, Sunpro monster tacho with tell-tale shift lights. In the rear there is a new Rusty Lee rock and roll bed with new Delilahs foam upholstery in beautiful vintage red with white piping. Fitted with wooden maple buddy box and matching Delilahs vintage red upholstered cushion. Also has matching upholstered new Delilahs foam spare wheel well plug which sets the rear off nicely. Full set of new internal ply panels, yet to be upholstered and is a nice blank canvas for the new owner.
Full Focal sound system with powerful amp and wired for sub in buddy box. Component speakers front and rear and Alpine head unit with ipod/usb lead.
