I've stripped my carb down. SOlex 30 PICT 1 got the new brass bush's of ebay to stop the fuel leaking from the acelerator shaft. I've taken the nuts of either end of the shaft and pulled it off but there are no bush's??? and the brass ones dont fit in the shaft?

Any idea's? anyone heard of this?

You will need access to a good engineering workshop.

The earlier carbs dont have the plastic insert bushes.

The throttle shaft holes through the carb body need to be drilled and then reamed just ever so slightly smaller that the bush outer diameter, then the new bushes press fitted in place.

I dont think this is a job you can do at home if the hole centers side to side on the carb body aren't spot on the throttle shaft will bind and possibly jam.

You could try these or find a UK carb rebuilder, or an engineering workshop that can do the machining for you. http://www.krustykarbsrestoration.com/index.php?p=1_5_Services" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Laurie or lawrie Ellis rebuilt our carb and he did an excellent job. I think it cost around £100. I can't find his details at the moment but i got them off here originally, try a search.

I've used Laurie Ellis and can recommend him.

His contact number is 01724 720553.

No website or 'e' mail as far as i'm aware.

An old fashioned craftsmen and worth the expense.
