i would imagine if you pull the flexi line off there is a solid piece under it coming out of the tank.

Thats what I was thinking but strangely there dont seem to b a jubilee clip holding it on so I guess I dont undo the nut just tug on the pipe. Then on the new rubber pipe fit a propper jubalee clip or similar. So once I do this the petrol will poor out. I know there is at least two petrol cans in there cos I put that in there a couple of months ago. Can I just catch this in a bowl and put in back in ?

If you're quick you don't lose too much fuel :D Have a containter underneath and everything else replaced and connected then with the jubilee clip on the new hose pull the old one off, finger over the end of the outlet and quickly swap over.

Or run the fuel down, cut the hose and empty into a jerry can then fill up once replaced.

Thanks chaps thats put my mind at ease and I think im a bit more confident at going ahead with this job. I cant believe there is no clip holding the hose onto the fuel tank outlet. Dont seem right to me? Is that standard procedure

Thats what I was thinking. There is no other way it could b held on ??? Is there ?
In the past I used to work in a extrusion moulding factory. I was in charge of the tooling equipment. We used to use 3/4 piping with olives n ferrells. I started to wonder if it was a similar setup? Obviously not just pushed on. Gotta get that all replaced !

Went to norwich with the family this afternoon. When I got back I decided to tackle the fuel pipe. 30 min later it was all done :) .
I found it daunting but once id started it was no prob at all thanks for all the advice chaps. Wouldnt think twice about doing another. Bit of a pannic on when I disconnected the pipe from the tank- fuel pissing out for a few seconds lol
Just for the record the old braded pipe was in a ok condition and would have been fine if it wasnt for the fact it had no clip holding it in place under the fuel tank. It was in great condition but due to lack of clip the pipe was damp from fuel just around the connecting area. Eventually this could have been bad news !
Complete new hose filters and clips.. happy days
Bus now ready
Come on sunshine !
