i know the van is not free but if you do some weddings and prom work the money you earn could pay off a small loan
or would run the van eg petrol / mot /
thats what we do and we also have some time away in her all paid for by giving up a few saturdays all year round or eveings in july and august for proms and they are good fun

Doing weddings is ok if your insurance policy covers it but proms is completely different as it comes under private hire/taxi legislation unless you are doing it for nothing for friends.

I read in the local press here that the local council is trying re-classify wedding vehicles as private hire, which would bring a whole lot of additional insurance responsibilities.

Not sure many old cars would pass the extra mot needed
Not sure many people want a wedding in a taxi .
Wedding insurance was another £20 pounds for up to 15 a year
Or about £25 unlimited weddings a year as long as keep it inside 3000 miles
Proms Lets just say we have a lot of friends
And very expensive petrol

Or should we do them in a taxi as well
