Been working on replicating the original interior for my 69 today.
Started on the buddy seat, I've made it an exact match construction wise.

I've just got to buy the trim now I have a close enough match on the laminate and cut the hole in the top.

Cheers Scott

That`s cheating a bit methinks, fancy showing off like that  Looks absolutely cracking does that, some good skills too. Any one would think you might know a little bit about woodwork ;) But if you can`t copy it, then who can. I hope you`ll be good enough to keep us updated as you go through it all, might be nice if you tell us how you do some of that stuff as well, like how you manage to get the joints so crisp etc etc, what tools are involved too. It`ll give us amatuers something to aim for. If it`s exactly the same then it just can`t get any better .

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Top marks

Cheers Ozziedog and everyone else for the kind words, the joints are easy when you have the right machinery!! Although it can all be done with a router and a couple of jigs. My aim is to do a write up for Hayburner on it, just finding time at the minute. Hopefully ready for the summer edition!
Hopefully start on the sink unit tomorrow.

From one joiner to another great job
Nice easy joins as well!
Formica is a good Match.
You should keep you templates
I'm sure there's a few people on early
Bays that would like one

Geordie.

I certainly have kept the templates! :)

Thanks means a lot getting the great replies, makes you strive to hit the next level and keep you on your toes!

Like the bare faced tenon!
Simple and great idea
Sorry I'm boring everone now

Looks really good Scott. Nice work 8)

WHS ^^^^ that looks the nutz, missed this thread before, but thats what i was aiming to do (though prob not as good  ) some day down the line- but i rek you could sell a few if you were so inclined, and also if you could replicate the other conversions too!

:D

Love it mate
That's the sort of thing I'd like in my bus
Are you remaking the cooler / sink unit as well?

4 People in a tintop Westy?!

Now If i removed my sink and fridge to make more room, my idea would be to have 2 Buddy seats with the stool in-between (+ 1 Bed!) Cool box is always on board.... plus the none original seat I would play with to maximise its function ability as its not OG it don't matter.

Mmm, I do need more space... and I don't want to get rid of the van!? (Keep sink & Fridge unit of course!)

Saw a guy at Stanford Hall selling W/F Formica same guy as the curtain material(Dollar though!) Im sure a guy on here was getting hold of it a lot cheaper?!

Think Sam knows him?!

Bloody nice that! If I could do that I would seriously be firing up the business brain!
