Guys what do you use gas cooking wise in your Campmobiles? and where do you store them etc?

I've seen a few guys have done conversions but my interior is too good and original to mess with IMO so just looking for some ideas.

Does anyone have a stove small enough to slide under the sink?

Thanks 8)

Hi

As this pic of our Cornwall Olympic piss-up shows, I have a Dormy modded cooker behind the seat

Just

Replaced my sink/water unit with a cooker/water unit (fitting electric pump e.t.c. this weekend!) - before this though I used either my colemans dual fuel petrol stoke on the flip out table on the side (fits nicely on this) or one of the cheapo gas cartridge type stoves and these are small and compact - but I just saw so much more value in a stove than a sink!

One of these - wasn't proud (you pay more for gas with the canisters) but it was peizo lighting and stored under my buddy seat no problem:

If you have a decent unit I'd attempt to retro fit a smev or can single burner unit in the top?

I'm using the portable gas stove, they are about £6.00 from Go outdoors. Want to keep the Campmobile sink unit all original.
Stove can sit inside on top of the sink, or at the side on the out-side shelf. It comes with a plastic case and we stow ours under the buddy seat. :)
I also have a Coleman petrol stove (for outside in the awning) if theres more than simple cooking to do!

Hi!

Here's my setup, posted this, along with others on this thread:

Calor gas under buddy seat, 3 way gas manifold with copper pipe under the floor, 1 off to the propex under the bed.

I also have one of those gas cartridge single burner hobs, and another 2 burner hob with grill which is also fitted under the buddy seat along with the bottle. This also has a quick release bbq point, so can be used on my pipework and ran outside - or i can use the gas bbq attached to the gas point (pipe pushed away inside hob, about 2 meters can be pulled out)

And 2 other pipes over to the sink unit, one for the gas hob, and one fitted to a length of rubber gas hose with quick release bbq fittings, and the pipe just sits at the rear air gap at the top of the hob worktop next to the passenger seat. Didn't want any more additional holes for a bbq point, trying to keep things hidden, or at least not drill extra holes (i hate drilling holes!)

As for the electric, inverter under the seat with Zig unit (soon to be replaced with different setup) the electric hook up socket is under the spare wheel well in the engine bay, 240V socket on front panel under bed

I have a extension lead on the inverter if i need to be off grid. I am changing this to run a 210aH system, so wont need the zig or mains power, i will be off grid completely. I am running a 12V compresser fridge in the original sink unit, and hope to be shifting to a solar set up shortly.

More pics etc on the last few pages on my gallery thread.

Hope this helps

Cheers!

I just use a cheapo gas cartridge stove, they are so cheap I bought another for longer trips when we want beans AND toast hot together. :)

I have one of the cartridge stove but it doesn't fir under the sink but I found an even smaller cartridge stive which will fit :)

I've got a portable stove from Asda. Exactly the same size as the one in the Ebay link above, but only £6, not £22! :)

not tried fitting it in the drawer under the sink, but I'll have a go and let you know if it fits!

I bought a cheap £5 stove from go camping that is similar but I couldn't get the door to close as it stuck out too much

Found these pics the show the difference

damn that sun gas one is small! I've definately got the larger on, but now feel that I need to buy the smaller one

I've ordered it so when it arrives I'll take some pics of how it fits etc.

Amazon sell them a bit cheaper with free post but I had some PayPal money burning a hole in the account so bought off eBay :)

Out of stock now as well :(

I'll keep and eye out for more, not got a Asda local to me.

Having a look at how small it is, could you fit two?? :D

I think so! Stupidly I only bought one :-(

Still carrying around my older one but that is the larger size so has to go under the buddy seat.

Ripley, I'm surprised your go outdoors one doesn't fit, looks about the same size as the Asda one.

Sadly it doesn't fit with or without the case

Unless I take out the dividing ply board, then it will fit in backwards out of the case

By trying this I also found out the waste pipe wasn't connected and when I eventually did get them together it leaked like a mo fo

So off to Wickes to see if I can get better fitting pipes although half expecting it to be an ancient US only fitting or similar lol

Let us know Ripley how you get on finding a replacement. I tired a few smaller DIY shops but to no avail. They did sell me some magic bonding tape which i wraped around my bend and it seems to have worked.
