Hi,

Ok decided to upgrade my suspension due to the ride being a bit ruff mainly due to being lowered whilst still having its original shocks which i wasnt to please to find out!

Can anyone recomend decent shocks for a lowered van not slammed (2 splines at the back adjusters on the front) and also Steve at Johnsons autoworks said something about a creative back plates that help add travel distance at the back?

Looking to improve my ride as much as possible whilst keeping its ride height which i really like as its low enough to look cool but not to low i catch every thing!

Looking for front and back shocks!

I've noticed a big difference in price in shocks are adjustable shocks worth the extra cash?

Cheers

Dave

On a serious note, i asked the same question the other day and Easy recomended.

"The creative engineering adjustable shocks. Work a treat and have 26 points of adjustment from soft to smooth"

Think i might go for these myself,

cheers dude

I'd love to go lower but i clear my drive by about 10mm with the exhaust at the moment lol.

There the ones I have and they rule. 8)

So is it spax or creative then people?

Also can i use them on the back as well as the front?

Also someone said creative do a plate for the rear suspension to give the shocks more travel distance anyone got this on their bus or know about it please?

Dave - mine has lowered KYB GR2's for the front and KYB Gas Adjust for the rear. Work well when fitted correctly. Probably cheaper than the other options. They came from SSP.

either shocks dude, spax or gaz both are great shocks 8)

The ones Creative sell are the Spax ones, they just get them in the correct fitting and at varying lengths of travel to suit different ride heights.

They are the same fitment on front and rear but the length will change depending on how low you go. You will need to remove your current shocks if you have any, measure the gap between upper and lower mount and let Dave or Mandy at Creative know. they will then recommend a shock for you. I have got a pretty standard length on the front because I have dropped spindles and very short ones on the rear due to a large drop.

As for a plate that enables further travel, I would like to see how this works as my travel is determined by the rear bump stops and the fact that the drive shafts and IRS arm would hit the chassis if I go any lower. The only thing to stop that as far as I am aware is to do some heavy sectioning of the chassis like the T2D westy and the one they did at Big Bang. Or to change the gear box ratios and put lower profile tyres on as on The Roadhouse Retro westy. I think that modifyingg the engine mount and centre pin would also be necessary.

 so there!

wow thanks mate i think i follow sounds to complicated for a Timmy like me!

i'm getting the roadhouse gear box conversion next week so might ask Tim about it whilst i'm there
