I know I've seen them loads of times, but never really asked what they are ..

The wheels on this orange early :

I don't believe they are 356 rims as they don't have any slots, unlike the genuine '52 rims in my garage. What I do think is that they are 'reverse rim' steels or some foreign manufactured item that looks similar. There looks to be hardly any 'inset' but lots of 'offset'. Where was this van photographed? Is that a Thai/Phillipine no. plate?
Reverse rims are where a wheel with 'inset' is separated rim/centre, and the rim flipped and re-welded so the 'inset' now becomes 'offset'. Common practice in the late 60's/ early 70's supposedly to make the wheels look wider and more cool! So my Dad said.....
 
the rear ones are definitely deeper centred .. i buy the off set idea ..

do you think the rears are wider? or just offset more ..

I think they look deeper on the rear than the porsche ones ... although them porsche ones are nice too!

Any idea's where i could get some..! ( apart from off an orange bus in the philipines!) .. I'll pm the guy who posted the photo ..
