I don't really want to drill a big hole for an ariel in my van, so just wondering if you guys have an alternatives?

Sometimes it's easier just to drill the hole.

I think you can probably get internal ones from somewhere.

I have an internal windscreen mounted aerial
about 12" long
works fine

Theres plenty on ebay

Anyone know where the stock/standard location for an aerial for a rhd van is?
and were the single or dual mount or did it depend on dealer as below?
or were they all dealer fitted so could go anywhere?

I have mine mounted behind the passenger seat  works like a dream and doesnt get snapped off

Mines on the swage line at the lower right hand (n/s) corner of the windscreen

When I replaced mine both the one I took and the one I replaced it with had an angled clamp (I would guess around 30*) and so had to fit on an angled part of the body andf therefore wouldn't have fitted any lower down.

NB I firstly bought one from JK but the fitting was different and would have required increasing the size of the hole in the front panel so I sent it back and bought one from C&C which was a lot closer to the design of the one I took out.

I would be putting a normal ariel under the dash or as Easy has done behind a seat. It worked fine on my last bus.

Ah! I'm surprised Mr Pedant himself hasnt leapt upon this one.

well if any israelis are reading this they will undoubtedly say in the ground and the PLO cheering that fact.....

Or if you were to ask a young girl the chances are they would point you to thier toy box or dvd shelf....

My aerial / antenna went in the bin the hole plated over and a new one will be fitted internally probably a glass mount....

i blooming well hope you're referring to me 8)

i once went for an interview at a company called "ariel pressings" - first thing i did was ask if they'd meant to spell it that way... oddly enough i never heard back from them

i got my aerial from a steam fair in the grounds of boconnoc house just up the road... white and floppy the way things should be... i already had a hole to fill so everyone's a winner
