Have decided to fit reverse lights to my 1970 Bay but what lights do people fit?
When i got the bay it came with what can only be described as classic mini indicators with clear lenses

These just dont look right so i was wandering what the correct type are. Will just leave reverse lights off for the moment but would prefer some in the long run

Have also seen ths one on ebay

Is there anyone that sells the correct type or is it best to leave them off?
Also what about rear fog light? Is there any of these available? Thinking maybe 1 reverse light on 1 side and one fog light the other to balance up the rear end

Hello mate, I have a 70 and dont have any fitted, either reversing or fog, i like the minimal look to be honest.

If you want some good ones you can get some NOS Hella ones on the samba or ebay from time to time :D

have a looksy here :D

Used OEM reverse lights costs practically nothing, why not go with those?

Or if you do not want make big holes, get those separate typ3 ones. Hella is actually making them still, and you are able to order them via local Hella dealer. Not cheap though. You can get repro red lenses to them also so you can use another for fog light and the other for reverse light.

How easy is it to buy stuff off the.samba?
Never been on the site before, presume its American so is postage stupid?

looking at trying to get some reverse lights , because the old hella (original) ones on my 68 dont earth for some reason :? been thinking of drilling and tapping them , putting a screw in and seperate earth wire , the other was to drill out the old bulb holder and replace that , or get some new ones (possibly from states)

dead easy, just send them an email and they will help you. Just like buying stuff off VZI but further away. Some people are in the UK aswell tho, just check their location.

Ive bought tons of stuff from there as its one of the best places to get type 3 stuff

Got to agree that thesamba is a good (and easy) place to get stuff from - postage isn't usually stupid (unless you want something big) and most of the time I don't pay any import duties or anything (had stuff from USA, Canada and Argentina before). Usually arrives reasonably quickly too.

It's always easier to have someone that takes paypal though - bank transfers cost too much for small items, though cash in the post is of course a riskier option (I would generally do so if it's less than £34 - Royal Mails standard insurance on all letters I think).

your more likely to pay duties from a US online shop, most of the small traders on the samba are savvy enough not to put a price and details on the package, ive only had to pay duties once ordering from traders on the samba. Fed Ex are more likey to check so if you do buy something ask them to send it UPS, they are much more relaxed.
