Hi All,
just serviced the bus yesterday and went to warm the oil up to drain it and the bus won't flipping start!!
All I did was set the tappets (now all bang on at .006") and check the points gap, nothing else has changed.
Went to start it to warm the oil and it won't start.
It's turning over on the starter ok but just won't get going.
All wires etc look ok and everything is at was so I'm stumped!?!?
Any clues and help much appreciated!

hmm - I'd also suggest going back to beginning - you'd have removed the dizzy cap to do the points, perhaps worth re-checking you have a spark at a plug? Is it mechanical pump or electric? If electric then make sure there's not a live feed from the coil that's dropped off somewhere?

I had a similar thing with my 2l engine. Changed the points and condenser and set the points to .045mm (half way between what's said in my Bentley manual) and guess what wouldn't start, adjusted the points to .040 and hay presto started first time!! Might help???

would you believe it was the dizzy?
Don't know why it died but I swapped the dizzy for a spare and all ran ok.
Do dizzys just "die" instantly? mine did :(
