    Rear damper top nut repair?

Hi rallye dale, thanks for the reply. Read back on my post I think I've misled people. The thread on the nut welded to the chassis has stripped, not the bolt itself. I've going to have another look with fresh eyes on the weekend, using a chisel to remove the nut is looking preferable a the moment.

    Rear damper top nut repair?

As the title says really. I went to change the rear dampers tonight, the bolts came out ok. When I came to refit the top bolt the thread wouldn't catch, upon further inspection I've found the threads have been damaged when I removed the bolt  There's not chance of tapping them as I've...

Well I went for the MOT this morning and she passed! Had a couple of advisories on it, so I'm off parts shopping this morning. At least it's on the road now, so we can start to make it look good.

What did you do with your early bay today

Tried to time my engine and sort out the carb, but had to call it off due to the rockers dumping oil on the exhaust and smoking me out  So the leaks have been sorted today, ready to tune the carb tomorrow.

    The Blue '71 makeover

Done a bit more today. Changed the steering drag link, don't think it has ever been removed but a bit of heat soon had things moving. Also pulled the front gearbox linkage off and replaced the front bush. When I removed the gearstick I found the base plate was damaged, so a new one of those is...

    The Blue '71 makeover

Well I've made some decent progress at last. This morning started by fitting the heat exchangers and backbox. Also set the rocker - valve clearance while it was on the stand. Next job was to get it on ground, fit the flywheel, clutch and attach the gearbox. Also filled it with oil while is...
