have had a quote of 300-500 pounds to repair this section! I'm not actually a total beginner at welding and do have my own mig welder already.. therefor this quote does seem to be a lot! what do you think? cheers, rowan.

i may need a whole section of the chassis welded.. its the part that runs to the front of the van - they form a sort of "Y" shape and strengthen the whole front.. I have checled and you can buy the full section as a repair panel. I would undertake welding jobs myself - but have never done...

hello there.. my mother has a 1971 devon conversion early bay for sale.. the van is in Lewes so maybe not too far from you,, its a lovely camper and solid.. i think she is asking slightly more than your top price (9900) but It is well worth a look,, recon engine less than 10k ago stronge gearbox...

just welded the front lower panel on my panel van - all in primer ready to paint and just realised i dont have the 'fixing arms' (that take the srews from indicator housing) fixed..... I imagine this is a common problem when replacing this panel and wonder how others have got round this>>...
