    Tachometer

The indicator stalk swap was more out of an MOT requirement than a style choice, testers were fussy about working indicators.. Not my best move, some.JK Chinese junk. The indicator cancel stopped working after a month and I have to manually aline to the centre to stop it blinking.... I still...

    Tachometer

Sunpro III. Was given to me for my 40th quite a few years ago... I keep meaning to wire in a switch so it can operate as an internal light because it looks cool! Presently wired into the dashboard light so you can turn the backlight off at night.

Parts Wanted Where do i buy this part?

You might be very lucky and find NOS, but I suspect that is going to be hard too find, ebay...Swap meet. If your current one cannot be repaired by a friendly upholsterer check https://newtoncomm.co.uk/ you might be able to get some original reproduction vinyl to make up something. If you are...

    Lowered shocks !

I cannot speak to the lowered bart of your question but I have been running on a set of the T2D Bilstein’s. Wish I had swapped out my old warn out ones years ago. I run standard height at the rear and slightly lower at the front. - I don't bottom out any more since switching to the Bilstein’s...

Hayburner winner :-) SSP Steering wheel.

Quick post, thought I would share a picture of a recent win. I enter Hayburner competitions regularly, this is my first win. So far I love having large wheel, its been a long time since I have been able to see the gauges!

    Engine

Second what @K@rlos said. I went for a 1776, which runs well (With constant supervision) but wish I had gone bigger, at the time I had just spent out on some body work (Unplanned) and a new windscreen so was not feeling flush.

    Bluetooth Battery Monitor

Very fancy. Are you charging from Solar as well as the alternator?

    Bluetooth Battery Monitor

Hope this works. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07L42W4Q9/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 If not search Amazon for Duel USB with LED. It costs more than when I purchased it two years ago! I mounted it in the Glovebox.

    Bluetooth Battery Monitor

I wired a USB charger that also displays the voltage. Added a three way switch (bat1, off, bat2) so I can see the voltage. Good to see the state with engine off and running so you know charging is happing. Cost less that £10 and I can charge stuff off either battery. BT needed for music

    123 distributor

I have played with my 123 a fair bit. Trying the curves of different distributors to see what works was educational! Knowing what I know now I would have done initial setup differently. I have the BT version, the app is good and easy to tweek and play with. The light built in to indicate TDC...

    Random power loss (Battery related)

As Ozziedog suggested. For me, I had a corroded earth strap from the gearbox to the chassis, the single strand remaining used to glow when cranking.

VW of America Super Bowl 2024 advert

Liked the advert. Liked Taylor swift chugging a beer. No idea what football result was.

    Track Rods, ends and tracking.

Thanks all, I had a good climb round under the van at the weekend. Started a shopping list, but could use a pay day first! The Drag link is not centred to the beam (Vertically, looks good horizontally), it looks like it's touched the beam as there are some ware marks on the drag link. I will...

    Track Rods, ends and tracking.

Thanks Clem, I could not see a downside to having both sides adjustable (Other than cost) but thought I would ask before I spent money. I guess if I remove the rod with ends unmoved I can match the length on the new one before fitting. (Plan A) My nearest tyre shop were unhelpful with tracking...

    Track Rods, ends and tracking.

Hello all, My last MOT resulted on yellow chalk being scribbled all over my track rod ends etc. I have lived with this situation without incident, but have decided its time to stop pushing my luck as I have a few longer trips planned. Questions to the hive mind. 1 - Is it bad to fit...

    Winnie - Our 1970 Bay

I fitted one of these, from https://www.classiccarstereo.co.uk BT to phone for calls and Spotify. I have not had a good experience with DAB Aerials. The stick on ones are BS, presently using a mag mount WiFi aerial. Plan to try the splitter thing. DAB is great when there is no data.

Parts Wanted Steering column 1972 RHD wanted

I did this job earlier in the year, fitted a litestear. I only needed to cut the outer tube once removed. Instructions were clear on the measurements and not complicated.

Polzeath, Cornwall - this afternoon, not too shabby!

Love Polzeath especially when the very expensive campsite allows camping in the carpark on the hill at a much cheeper price! @Aldaol Is the food shack still in the lay-by / parking bays you were parked up in? Polzeath photo from a few years back (Expensive campsite VIP zone, about 50m from the...

    Fuel in crank case.

Dual carbs, one was spot on, the other was quite a bit off. I had to adjust both in the end as the new valves had slightly different retaining springs. I still think one of the valves was the issue rather than float height.

    Fuel in crank case.

Thanks all for your input. I replaced both needle valves and its seems to have solved the problem. For info, purchased the needle valves from https://www.southerncarbs.co.uk/ their website is bunk, but one phone call and the parts were in the post same day.
