Running on 2 at low revs -tappets?

Is that the kind of thing that changes over time? The guy who set it up on a rolling road set it up about a year ago with the same setup and it didn't have the 2 cylinder issue

Running on 2 at low revs -tappets?

Not Kadrons, some Chinese make, it's the fuel economy that's batting my head especially as I've just realised the inaccurate speedo makes it worse- about 20 mpg, the tuner said compression was down to 100 on the left hand front cylinder. What do I do next? Any ideas? I've done exhaust, timing...

Running on 2 at low revs -tappets?

After finding a leaky gasket on the exhaust the van isn't backfiring anymore but it's drinking fuel so I took it too R E Performance and they tuned the twin carbs, Ken said it's only running on two at low revs and that's why it's drinking petrol, he suggested it might be tight tappets - so can I...

Swap Chrome wheels with Porche Hubcaps for 5205 Wide 5's

Hi Looking to see if anyone has a swap for these wheels, this is what they look like after a polish :) This is what they looked like before They all have Porche hubcaps with badges, the badges are chipped on some of the caps as you can see on the closeup I'm told that i should have 5"...

    Sooty back?

I covered the exhaust while it was running as suggested and it didn't seem to change the engine note, is that an air leak? If it is apart from the manifold where should I be looking? Its a 1.6 twin carb with a stainless from Bluebird Cheers

    Sooty back?

Cool, how do I check for leaks, just run the engine and try to feel the leak?

    Sooty back?

Hi All Just back from a nice jaunt and the back of my westy is again covered in black marks, I'm running a 1600 with twin carbs and it backfires when you take your foot off, we've heckled the timing and tapped the tappets, is the mix too rich? Ideas welcome Cheers

    For f**cks sake -long story

Thanks for all the advice, the good news is that 99% of the issues are gone! :) Thanks to Ric's sterling work, it was a knackerd bolt holding the idler pin and seriously out of whack tracking, two garages claimed to have set the tracking, one supposedly checked it twice. The world is full of...

    Have I been very stupid?

I've been on the forum before asking about the steering on my 69 west as it occasionally steers like a wonky shopping trolly, well today I was looking at the notes on my phone and found one which said 'locking nut, locks the leaves into the middle of the beam' is this what's affecting my...

    For f**cks sake -long story

Cheers for the reply gvee, we have bleed the brakes but only the fronts and when we changed the pipes, do you think that could be the break issue? Haven't looked at the camber nuts yet because I haven't a clue how to adjust it, the garage were very confusing. How would you adjust them? Cheers

    For f**cks sake -long story

I have a 69 west now with a stock beam and dropped spindles, which is great. But it drifts to the left as you steer, pulls to the right/left/right if you anchor on and fells like it's wafting around if the camber if the road is a bit off. So we've changed the brake cylinders because they were...

    Can't indicate left, busted switch?

Hi Max I don't think it's the screws as it used to work, however when I took it part this afternoon I got it working left and right, put it back together and it will indicate right and stay indicating but it won't stay indicating left - any other ideas?
