Help exhaust needed + fitting urgently Kent

Thanks, Graham, back home and now studying the choices for a replacement - stainless seems to make sense (if a little pricey!).

    Looking for a non-locking cap to fit a 68.

Help exhaust needed + fitting urgently Kent

Thanks to everyone who responded - via the forum or direct on the phone. And thanks to some carefully placed cable ties and a complete disregard for new noise levels, we made it to Kent and from there back to the Midlands yesterday. Possibly the cheapest loud kit on the market.

Had planned to be there but now clashes with holiday - so apologies and aim to be there for the next one.

Thanks for this... tried them, sold out -but they were decent enough to recommend another supplier and it's ordered.

    WANTED,,,, fuel filler cap!!

New petrol cap arrived Thursday - and solved the problem. Until today when, at the end of a long journey we went to fill up, and the new cap failed. Won't lock/stay on. So that's going back tomorrow. Sigh.

    Olympic challenge

Camping at Box Hill - has to be THE place to be. Very envious. Will be glued to the TV tomorrow cheering on Cav's dream team.

    Olympic challenge

Can I... finish work on time, pack the bus, start it, fill up with petrol, drive from South Derbyshire up the M1, M18 and A1 and reach Darlington in time to watch the start of the Olympic opening ceremony? Or should I have started last Tuesday?

    WANTED,,,, fuel filler cap!!

Exactly what happened with mine - have gone for a different make and will see how that goes. Cured (maybe disguised) the smell of petrol in the garage - started drying a season's garlic from the allotment...

another breather question and whats this hole !

This I can confirm. And it doesn't take much time. I started a similar thread a few weeks back (thanks for all the advice) and I think I'm going to have to take one of the suggested options. The Bug Pack set-up (to both carbs) looks neat, I just need to confirm if the filler neck is stock or...

    WANTED,,,, fuel filler cap!!

I'm beginning to think I have the same problem - there's a smell of petrol around the bus (especially near the filler area) even when it's standing in the garage. There are no leaks anywhere on the system. Not long after the bus was on the road, I had to put the seal back on the petrol filler...

    Lowered? What exhaust?

Like the look of the pea shooters - where from/how much/easy to fit?

    Lowered? What exhaust?

I think a beetle silencer or stock bus one is about as tucked away as they get. I've just replaced my 4:1/silencer with a beetle one - I like the twin pipes - better breathing and they sound good. Can you recommend one?

    Newbie Observations...

Read this thread before the van was on the road and thought it funny; after six weeks on the road I now recognise it as hilarious.  And very familiar...

    Clutch pedal sideways play

Can't tell from the pic but clutch developed some sideways movement while we were on holiday. When the movement became significant it required a quick pit stop. Garage mechanic replaced bolts (which had become loose) and recommended either nylon replacements or a tack weld for added peace of...

What did you do with your early bay today

Took a trip to North Wales to pick up a 42-year-old, six-and-a-half foot cactus. M6 was a nightmare but who else can claim this road trip?! Pictures to follow (once I've removed all the cactus spines).
