roof restoration - early bay '70 -Westfalia Roof

I did the pop top repair/ repaint and solar panels on mine. I had to do some wood repair and painted it all with interlux boat paint. I made some access points for the wiring and a little insulation to help hide the wires under the taupe trunk liner material. A Renolgy DC to DC controller looks...

    Pumping pressure through pedal

I had that on my type 3 swing axle, I changed the brakes to disc and put in short axles, turns out one shaft had the end bunged up. I don't know whether it was dropped, or what but the pin hole and the threads were both out of shape , see if you can tell I put the magnetic dial indicator on it...

Even with the two 4” I have in the stock speaker area, you get mids and highs but very little bass from the small speakers. I added two 6” in the kick panels and the helps a lot with the bottom end

    Replacement Front Seats

You need to find something else with a low seat height. Mine are Chrysler middle row stow and go seats , they are quite nice, just did a couple 3 hour drives and they were great , it’s a pretty popular seat swap around here

    Wheel refurb.

you need enough tooth for the paint to grab, so you need to sand or blast them, and you need to neutralize the rust or it will just keep going. Ospho, evaporust, picklex, etc will do the job. No powder coat places close by? that would be your best best for a durable finish.

Help needed, Losing Power when over 50 mph.

be careful with reproduction pumps, they should be around 3PSI, I have had repro pumps put out 10-12 PSI. Then you have to stack gaskets, or cut the piston to get a proper fuel pressure, not ideal. your best bet is to put a pressure gauge inline and see what it's putting out when running. most...

    Vent speakers?

I went this route with the dash speaker, scrap piece of aluminum plate and two 4" speakers I have 6.5" in the kick panels too, but the wind noise drowns out most of the sound at highway speeds, especially when the vent is open

How to remove a VW t2 body

anything can be put on a rotisserie, trying to separate the body from the frame would be crazy, it's a one-piece assembly with the frame How bad is the rust? does it need major surgery? or do you just want is clean and painted? the rotisserie would be great if you want to blast everything and...

I don't know about where you are, but the local old school locksmith has VW blanks and has made keys off the code for me a few times over the years

    Those hand waves.

I got tired of my steering shaft grounding and blowing the horn, so I put a wireless remote under the horn button. I had to solder a couple small wires on to the remote so it plugs in, and wrap it in tape since the case is too bulky, but it works great...

    Those hand waves.

we always wave at other classic cars of all shapes and sizes. The bus gets waves and thumbs up from various people. While we were in Waterton park a couple weeks ago travelling to Cameron lake there was a ton of people that waved or honked on that road, quite surprising

    Your kitchen units

I built ours from 5/8" baltic birch plywood and laminated the white arborite sink with 8 gallons storage and fridge, we went with a Jetboil 2 burner folding stove so we can cook inside or out. our diesel heater is in the bottom of the cabinet behind the passenger seat, the rest is storage

    Before and after.

I spent the first year working on the electrical, mechanical and drivetrain, subi swap. Scrubbing the whole underside and painting, and last winter was building the cabinets, solar, poptop restoration, now we are going to use it
