    Tyre advice

I drove dad’s 1970 tin top for a few years and quite a few highway trips on passenger tires as a poor teenager. They suck! My 71 has proper C rated commercial tires and it rides like my Tacoma

    Inspection hatch ?

I used a T3 hatch out of a parts car for my 71, the firewall comes out easily from behind the EJ2.5, so I have access to the tank area

    Modern and custom made ?

two things with the module: the wires are short to try to put the module under the dash, and buy a decent crimp tool, and ends. Even if I use the crimp with the plastic end, I pull them off and shrink wrap the end instead. Those things are just cheesy looking

Parts Wanted Continental Roof Bed wanted

I’m not confident in the bar design to hold up the pillow section of the bed on the early bay. I tried bending up a bar to use the two holes that already were in the roof. There’s just not enough space for a decent support I was trying to figure a way to support it from the bottom, but have...

Fresh engine build damaged after 800miles (engine builder refusing to fix under warranty)

honestly for 2300 i wouldn't expect much, they would be using used parts and cobbling it together. We bought one "rebuilt" engine once, never again, we learned to build our first 1600cc from the old bug me videos, and a collection of forum info, then i drove a buddies 2110cc and I was hooked...

    bad steering coupler

I bought one of these steering couplers last year because they are advertised as just like the German OEM, well they are not I've been driving my bus for a month now and the steering has felt mushy, and you can feel the give when cranking on the wheel when stationary I ended up ordering a Lares...

    Intermittent Hesitation

Have the carbs ever been jetted for your motor? or did you stick them on and it ran so you used them? putting an O2 sensor on it and logging your air/fuel mixture would tell you if you are rich or lean in all areas or the rpm range and engine loads. I had a buddy that set his up and we put...

    What am I doing wrong

I had 2 steering wheels and shafts that came with my bus in the parts pile , I tried heat, impact , penetrating oil, pullers, etc. the only thing that got it off both shafts was the cutting wheel. Too much corrosion between shaft splines and wheel hub

    Seats

What about behind the seat access? I fitted the stow and go middle seats from a Chrysler minivan , you do have to make some seat brackets but they come with their own sliding track and they fold flat, or down to the steering wheel in the driver side

    Hot starting issues

Could be heat soak, Where is the fuel filter? My type 3 used to be hard to start when warm, I put a pressure gauge inline and checked it after shutdown and every 10-15 minutes after. The pressure kept going up as the heat rises off the engine. I switched to an electric pump under the tank and...
