    RED9 EZ-Rider issues

Make sure the grub screw on the arms are actually seated in the groove of the bar ends... Mine weren't to begin with and I suddenly got huge play! I had to knock out the end caps on the arms to allow enough room for the bar to go into them properly for the grub screw to sit in the groove fully...

    Insulation question

I used that Armacell stuff too. Managed to get foil backed on on side and was available with self adhesive backing the other but cost a lot more so just used an impact adhesive to glue them all on. Struggled to find it last year when I wanted some for the Beetle, so thanks for that link above...

    Subaru powered early bays... GO!

I had my 3-rib rebuilt with a taller 3rd, 4th and final drive...3500rpm ish at 70mph I had to fit a rev counter to know it's running at idle as I can't hear it. At speed it's the wind noise not the engine that you hear now!

    Subaru powered early bays... GO!

Richard @ RJES is extremely knowledgeable and his parts are excellent. the 2.0 N/A makes the van a joy to drive, but does lack torque...but does rev high! Pretty reliable too.

    Engine bay fire

Answered my own question by reading the Aircooled Works website... Theirs is a non-corrosive gas....next purchase for me then!

    Engine bay fire

My Firetec system did the job of putting out my fire in the summer, but I might get the Aircooled Works one next... One thing though, everything that the powder touched has corroded...small price to pay, and the engine bay paintwork wasn't too pretty anyway...but I was wondering if the Aircooled...

What to stick the plastic door liners with?

number plate tape works well too...just strong double sided foam tape ;) But yes, tuck the bottoms into the door or water will find its way into the bus...I learnt the hard way!

If you don't have one...get one!

Yes it had been running a little hot, but not to the extent I thought that would happen... Agree with what you say, but a little piece of mind goes a long way in case something unforeseen were to happen... ;)

    Busfest thoughts

Enjoyed it again...good to meet up with some friendly earlybayers again. Agree there was a severe shift to T5's this year, but will still go as we always have a good time and I even managed to pick up a couple of bits I needed. Would be nice if the food/drink/fairground was not so...
