    My 1971 Riviera Campwagen

Sorry, quick question about the kit from pop tops. Are the hinges and canvas good quality. I ask because I've been told that the hinges need to be very strong to support the gas struts. Thanks

Retrofit a westy top to a steel top? Anyone done it?

So I'm searching for a roof from the US. There is one at FBI which is great. I need to see if the cost can come down slightly as it is above what you state. I don't believe it is a '73 though....I think that is the best year as they didn't have a sun roof.

    Anybody used poptoproofs.co.uk ?

Awesome, I will be in touch once I've worked out what I'm going to do regarding the roof. Currently it's either a roof chop from the US or a new one from poptoproofs.co.uk I've ruled out the late bay roof from space roofs. They look awesome, although I want the right year type and prefer the...

    Anybody used poptoproofs.co.uk ?

I just posted something exactly the same, as I'm looking to convert my tin-top to a westy to fit the whole family. I like the idea of a new roof, although I'm wondering if a donor roof would be best (instead or in addition). I just spoke to the chap at pop top roofs and he also said they don't...

So I have found this company: http://www.poptoproofs.co.uk/shop/product-info.php?prodname=Volkswagen-T2---Rear-Elevator&id=30374" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; They have new pop-tops which are gas assisted as well with helps, although isn't too important. I want to go for the...

Help - Split Charge Fuse Blowing...

I have a split charging relay installed on my van. There is minimal load on the second battery - Propex, Lights and pump for sink. The fuse which goes from the positive on my main battery to the relay constantly blows? It is a 15A rated fuse. Hence the spare battery is not charging? What...

Late Bay Steering Box Conversion - Drive in/Out Service

I think I need to start sourcing a RHD late bay box! Although I've got a feeling my steering can't improve too much as I have a ball-joint beam on my bus.

Retrofit a westy top to a steel top? Anyone done it?

I've been told of a company called Space roofs and they seem quite good. It's a late roof although it might be the best option for us. I have seen one person on here with one. Anyone heard anything?

    Show us your roofs!!

Looks good, I think I'm going to go for one of these to be able to fit the family in. Do you know if it is the same height as the early one? Do you have a picture of it down? or any other pics that you are willing to share. I have spoken with Pete and he was very helpful. ->Adam

Retrofit a westy top to a steel top? Anyone done it?

So discussing it with the missus, and some more investigation we think it will be a go. Especially as we can get a bed to go in the top. The big question is how much height it will add, as we have to park the bus in a garage. Anyone know?

Retrofit a westy top to a steel top? Anyone done it?

I forgot to add, I chatted with Mark at Autotechniks this morning and he said he could probably take on this for me in the winter! Sadly I don't currently have space to do this (my van fits in the garage by a whisker and I haven't welded since college.

Retrofit a westy top to a steel top? Anyone done it?

Wow! What a great job you have done! Congrats. I think I'm going to start sourcing an Early top for mine. Was it an early top you put on? I've heard late's are better, although I prefer the idea of an early.
