I see this company has started offering front hinged rear elevating westy style poptop roofs.

Has anybody had experience of them or had one fitted?

It looks like there are 3 versions & I presume the one I'm talking about is for early bays?

Just wondered how the reinforcing works & fits as they offer the conversion for tintops which require strengthening etc

Think this one is meant for an EarlyBay

Looks to be £2k+ for a self fit option!

Cutting up a tintop wouldnt be my way of proceeding although each to their own.
My westie doesnt appear to have any structural alterations from the factory after the roof was chopped

It looks to me like they have either used an original Westy roof to advertise theirs or they have copied one exactly?
I would want to see more details.

I spoke to the guy selling them this afternoon & he told me they'd made a mold from a westy roof, and they were an exact copy of the original - just brand new & obviously without the porosity problems.

I just posted something exactly the same, as I'm looking to convert my tin-top to a westy to fit the whole family.

I like the idea of a new roof, although I'm wondering if a donor roof would be best (instead or in addition).

I just spoke to the chap at pop top roofs and he also said they don't do a bed kit for the early one.

I do a bed kit that will fit an early.

Awesome, I will be in touch once I've worked out what I'm going to do regarding the roof. Currently it's either a roof chop from the US or a new one from poptoproofs.co.uk

I've ruled out the late bay roof from space roofs. They look awesome, although I want the right year type and prefer the early ones.
