    Petrol smell

I ahad this recently as well as a fuel leak. It turned out to be worn float needles (?) The barrell bit that stops the fuel being pumped in to the reservoir. Replaced them and all's good. Might be worth checking the carb as it will just suck the fumes through? When I say leak, it was more a...

    Camper insurance

Sorry, I'm with highway as well. Apart from not having me on their system for recovery (i still got recovered with no issues) they've been great. Had a whack in May (see thread) no issues paying out. They just sent an assessor around to confirm the names of some parts. They sent the cheque out...

    Air outlets to heat exchangers

Haha, be surprised if we've not all done that! I'll get the eBay link in a bit. Also I think it's machine7 that do stainless steel ones. I didn't try them as I wasn't sure the right side would fit properly with the VS exhaust. I've modified mine a bit because I've used T25 heat exchangers.

    Air outlets to heat exchangers

If you mean the fresh air pipe? I bought some Silicone flexi pipe on EBay. Chuffed with it. I also have a VS and this stuff sits on the pipe that goes to the engine from the exhaust, I thought it may burn through but so far so good. Why did your foil one rip? There are rubbers that go through...

    Ignition housing interchangeability

I'll think you'll find the problem will be where the housing bolts to the arm part. I did either a 71 or 72 on my 70 which was fine luckily. I did however have to get a later ignition barrell so that could be an issue for you as well. Not much help, but maybe something to work with if no one...

    New engine and NO power

Check the simple things, are you revving it by doing it your self in the engine bay? I had the same issue and it was a combination of the accelerator peddle not being tight and the cable through the linkage loose. 5 seconds later and a spanner as it was awesome.

    Show me your exhaust system

Wow, that sidewinder looks massive! Vintage speed for me, on a 1776 as well. Real nice.
