    Single Port Tuning

Hi all For a while we’ve been debating on buying a new modified engine like a 1641 or 1776 for our 69 South African Bay. But now fancy keeping the original single port and if possible tuning that instead. So my question to you all is: What can be done with in reason to tuning our...

Welcome to the forum. I know what you mean, that's just how we came about owning our first bay window camper :)

    where and when?

I'm in the Pontefract area of West Yorkshire, but a meeting would be better if it was in the midlands somewhere so we all have a similar distance to travel or find out how many would like to attend and where the majority are located and work on that. Just a sugestion.

    Type 2 owners club!!!

I'm a member of the Type 2 owners club for insurance purposes and that's about it for me. I've been a committee member of a small car club (none VW that is) for some 17 years now, being such things as Parts sec. Magazine editor. Insurance valuation officer and Model registrar. We have a great...

    whish exhaust for my bus?

I've got a stainless single quietpack and 4 into 1 stainless manifold from Just Kampers. Engine is a standard 1600 single port apart from a full Pertronix ignition system and NGK plugs. All item were fitted at the same time so it's hard to say which parts have made the most improvements to the...

Thanks to the Baron for organising the cruise to Stanford hall, it was great to drive to a show in convoy with other Early Bay owners. Also nice to meet such a pleasant group of people, we look forward to our next outing. The show it's self for us was fab with a good selection of V Dubs on...

    South African Import - advice

We have a 1969? mini bus from South Africa, as far I can see it's very much like our old UK van but less rust. All the lights are the same, I do have little reflectors above the front indicators, and the rear of the van had been raised as ours had been a Church mini bus right up to 2004 when we...

northerners cruise to stanford hall - sign up here

We are at South Kirkby, Ponte is our postal address. The nearest Services to me I guess going South bound on the M1 would be Woodall Services just before J30, it's around 30 miles from my house. Wooley Edge services in relation to me would mean I'd have to go up land then across to J39 on the...

    Buying a new engine

Hi all We are looking at buying a new engine for our 69 Bay after our tour of Cornwall and Devon last year. Even though the 1600cc single port motor that's in it at the moment seems to be in healthy condition she really struggled with allot of those hills, sometimes going down to second and...
