Anyone figure out this starting issue

I've been having a similar problem to this and have ordered a Solex rebuild kit, would these parts all be part of that?

    First attempt at Crossover Resto

Finished up the Leisure battery install and the wiring to the cab. I wanted to install a dual USB port for charging, a cig lighter for anything else and run these plus the lighting from the leisure battery. I also wanted to be able to switch the stereo on without turning the ignition on but...

fitting vertical powder extinguisher in engine bay

Not sure where I read this but I believe the red pipe that all these systems use is only made and sold by a single company/person and they hold a monopoly on this which is also why you can buy an extinguisher cheap, but the automated version with this pipe is ~£200. If that is true then I don't...

    Worth rebuilding a bocar?

I haven't got a clue what my dizzy is, I replaced the 009 on the bus when I bought it ~10 years ago with a brazillian vac one. I know nothing about SVDA's and 123's so that sounds like a bit of research is needed! Thanks for the pointer.

    Worth rebuilding a bocar?

I forgot to mention the other problem is she doesn't start very enthusiastically once hot. I have to crank the starter more than i would expect and she won't generally start unless i bury the throttle.

    Worth rebuilding a bocar?

I have a stock 1600TP with a vac dizzy and a Bocar copy of a 34 pict 3 all of this is several years old. The engine was a recon and has a few thousand miles on it in total. The engine sat for about 5 years whilst the bus was rebuilt and although i stripped the components down the engine and carb...

    Early vs late

I did manage to retain my '72 grill with a new panel but I had to hack the living daylights out of the mesh panel that sits behind it to get it to fit properly.

    Split charge relay going bonkers

Cool, thanks, will give that a go next weekend. So I take it I just need a 12v once the engine is running?

    First attempt at Crossover Resto

Not updated this for a while, still got a few jobs to be done but managed to get away at the last bank holiday down to Pevensey for 3 nights, first time camping in the bus in over 5 years and it was all good, camp site was really quiet when we turned up and no drama's using the new awning I...

    Split charge relay going bonkers

I fitted my leisure battery today and used a split charge relay that I used to have fitted years ago before my resto, I followed wiring diagrams I found online and I still have a dynamo so it seems the relay activation wire goes to the generator light output/the smaller post on the dynamo...

Tracker advice- general anti theft advice

Have a look at skytag, seems to be recommended.

    Tracking

So it wasn't as simple as I thought. I went to ATS, they said their tracking equipment wouldn't fit on my rear wheels as the arch is lower than the top of the rear wheel. They sent me to another place that had something that didn't need to hook over the wheels. This system gripped the edge of...

Vintage Speed Exhaust - Where to buy

I bought mine from VWH, BUT...... if you need the pre heat riser tubes for a standard type 1 engine with a single carb these will cost you an additional £50 or thereabouts from VWH (ask me how I know) When I spoke to Dan about something else he told me he will just swap out the ones that come...

    Tracking

Its weird I've used him for years and trust him more than the big chains, maybe he's thinking I've got some unusual setup.
