Possibly about to buy a 1970 early bay t2

Yes they are juicy. To make it more interesting my fuel gauge doesn't work, so I just assume its always nearly empty. Expect 20mpg, anything more is a bonus. That's one of the reasons I wouldn't use it as a daily.

Upholstery Quote - reasonable or not?

Sounds fair. My two fronts and rear microbus seat (not middle) cost me £550 in vinyl.

Looks nice. Too good for a daily driver in my opinion, but each to their own.

    Replacing sliding door seal?

Buy cheap and pay twice is the usual advice. Status and c&c are always good, buy the expensive ones.

My fiat coupe is like totes amaze balls. Never driven anything like it, and unless its at the garage its pretty inexpensive.

    Registered my bus today

It was being worked on for longer than it should, but that was because at first we didn't realise what was wrong. All done now, well engine running nicely, lowered, new bits and pieces underneath.... I don't know if they will want to inspect it, but if they do I think I'd be allowed to drive it...

    Registered my bus today

Couldn't have been easier, just drove to Chelmsford DVLA office with US title document, MOT, insurance cover note, proof of age from Historic VW society, ID and a my cheque book. Filled in a few lines of the V55/5, and was told I'd get something nice in the post in a few days. I was so surprised...
