    1971 Deluxe Import - A blank canvas

My daily is in for a bit of accident repair for a week or so which means the bus is currently the daily. Totally inconvenient but quite nice to have it on the road a bit! Certainly ironing out the problems! I had all my electrics going over and over which turned out to be a short in the...

    1971 Deluxe Import - A blank canvas

Had an hour stripping the carbs and checking them over. Jets are the wrong sizes and emulsion tube was the f78 that comes as stock that seems to be the main cause of issues that people have with them. Have ordered a new set of jets according to advice on vzi, hopefully will get me close and then...

    1969 - GGL 468G

Also, seam sealer often peels off when it gets damp or isn't applied onto a totally dry clean panel - I've got a load peeling up on my cab floor, going to clean up the welds and paint - won't replace the seam sealer. I'm not sure where you'd want to go with that chunk of filler - realistically...

    1969 - GGL 468G

Don't want anything for it mate, came from another member on here as he had it left over and I used a small section and have a fair sized piece left. I'll stick a pic on and if it's any good we can arrange to get it to you - I'm only up at Leeds and pass Sheffield quite often.

WTD : Seat belt, Steering Wheel, Centerlines

Are you after the original non retractable belts? I've got a set pulled out of my bay - they're a bit tatty/dirty/possibly missing parts but you're welcome to take whatever bits you want. Only over in Rodley.

    Another Dormobile restoration :)

that fuel tank sender access looks absolutely great - a cracking piece of work!

Is it a chunk of filler? I may have a floor cut if you want to cut that bit out and replace it with the right metal!

    Advise from the pros please

There's a great import for sale on one of the facebook groups at the moment, think it's NOSvw that's got it for sale - about £6000 and will need a resto but at that price for a solid base, with a few months work it could be absolutely incredible and exactly how you want it!

    1971 Deluxe Import - A blank canvas

Oops... Bit of a random purchase as they came up for sale locally... Need to strip and clean them and check the jets. Plus side is the CSP linkage, downside is the empi manifolds. Need to drill and tap for a vac feed for the brakes - not sure how to go about that just yet!

    gurgling in fuel filter

The diaphragm in the fuel pump could be split - that's where the fuel will be leaking through into the case. ( if it is! )

    MPH

My stock 1600tp with 34 pict3 is about the same as yours, cruises happy at 55 but hates hills. I've got a set of 34 ICT's coming but will leave it till later in the year to fit them - the slow hill situation doesn't bother me too much... Bit more concerned that I've got no interior!

    1971 Deluxe Import - A blank canvas

Had a spare hour at work today so had a bit of a fiddle, fitted an engine lid seal as I was missing one. Think this was from VWH? It's a half decent fit, a little bit too fat maybe but seems pretty good to me. Certainly beats rattling around without one! Also got the USB/3.5mm input fitted to...

    what headlights

Mine were cheapo mk1 golf lights off ebay - I had them sat in the garage and just whacked them in. They're kind of a tight fit but did the job right!

Apparently they will fit - the riviera conversions were done on microbuses not cut up panel vans. I think the outer lip of the window is the same size as the factory glass so they fit with a factory seal - though I've yet to test!

Do I need to remove the air filter bracket to fit twin carbs

Alternatively, stick with the stock carb and sell me your twins dead cheap... No? :(

    1971 Deluxe Import - A blank canvas

Got a flickering Generator light when driving the other day, have it pegged for a loose/slipping belt so have tightened it up. Need to get myself a new vac hose - this one is so close to death! But they're about £50 on JK which is quite insane.

Riviera conversion - anyone got one?

That looks about right to me - If you have a minute could you snap a few pictures of how it's fitted/which seal it takes? Also how the latches work on the glass/mesh inside? I can't get my head around them at all - considering sticking them on ebay!

Picked these up yesterday - Waiting to see if I can get them looking smart and then will fit them.
