    1971 Deluxe Import - A blank canvas

I've put the door seal situation to one side for now and cracked on a bit more with the cargo floor/ a few little jobs. my sliding door wasn't connected up right, the bar that operates the latching mech at the rear of the door was missing so I got a spare from thegatekeeper and got it fitted...

    1971 Deluxe Import - A blank canvas

It's in another bus over the other side of Leeds - http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=68119&start=40 Slammed72/Adam had it when I realised I couldn't really make use of it and we had our little one on the way!

Wire (indicator light) meltdown behind dash?

I had a similar problem, one of the switches under the clocks (headlight in my case) had shorted out on the back of the clocks and melted an earth wire.

I hate the silver and any shade of white would look better! Not sure what shade is best, pop down a decent paint place and see if they'll put some colour chips against it for you so you can make a decision? I'd probably paint the roof white too if I was going to the trouble of doing the silver...

May not be any help but I bought a JK plastic one and I'm so glad I did, fit like a charm and its so much less rank than an old card one!

Ya See Um come and ya se um go!

Had a few T4's along side beetles, mk1 golf, a caddy and 2 bays. The T4's make the best daily/surf bus, no doubt about it. Used to do all the spannering and kitted my last one out myself and resprayed it, had loads of fun with it but never got the satisfaction that I do out of aircooled stuff...

    1971 Deluxe Import - A blank canvas

Cleaned up the welds on the seat runners and stuck some red primer on. I'll respray the cab area in summer when I have a free day and some money for the right paint! Currently sat waiting at home before my Mrs goes and gets induced - making time for a few jobs on the bus while we wait though!

'72 crosser westy (not a resto just a get it going)

They were great with my v55/5, I sent an SAE and asked really politely if they could send all my original docs including the US title back and they did, just wrote the UK reg on it and stamped it so it couldn't be used again. Didn't want to lose it! Only took about 10 days for mine to come!

    Hello! 1970 Westy (my first)

Looks a great start! Sounds like you're in good hands with your grandfathers help! My old man doesn't know his arse from his elbow mechanics wise so I was on my own till a few forum members popped up locally and all offered to chip in where they can! It's a great community and I'm sure you'll...

    Tailgate catch removal

Soak them in WD40 or plusgas and then use the correct sized bit, I use a cordless drill on the torque setting for stuff like this, so it doesn't round off any more and I can ramp it up bit by bit until it cracks them loose.

    1971 Deluxe Import - A blank canvas

I am shocking at welding, but you've got to start somewhere! I had a rotten seat mount so cut it out, had a cut of floor that I got from another member (cheers Marshy!) - I cut that to size and butchered it with a welder. It stuck together pretty good and cleaned up OK, I'd rather have a pretty...

Fitting LHD seats into RHD van

Where are you based? I think I still have the runners from my LHD, was going to bang them on ebay but never got round to it. I'm in Leeds if you need them, yours for a couple of beers!
