I run late bay spindles/disks and adapters on my '68 and they work great. This isn't a servo set up, but is still a nice, lower maintenance option :) The adapters do add a bit of track, but this is offset by the spindles slightly narrowing track, so overall it isn't too much of an increase...

I think a 74mm crank gives 1904cc, but agree I would put in a 74 or 76mm crank for extra capacity and a mild cam.

What ratio are your rockers? Could make a difference to your choice, as some cams are designed to work better with 1.4:1 or 1.25:1 rockers. Go with a short duration for torque over top end power, such as Engle 100, Scat C25 etc. I went with Engle FK41 and 1.4 rockers.

I thought the opposite of this was true, leisure batteries are also known as deep-cycle as they will support becoming totally drained and recharged. Any starting car battery I have had run flat has always been pretty knackered afterwards.......

Split wheels are 4.5 including crows foot ones, but I think crows foot have a slightly different offset.

I've used Concept Poptops in Poole, http://conceptpoptops.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; really happy with the quality.

But they have a different shape compared to wide 5s to clear the calipers. I fitted later spindles/discs/calipers and tried fitting my original 14s and even with the extra clearance from the adapters they weren't fitting. After fitting the 15s still needed to take a bit off the calipers.

You will need to go to 15s and will still need a little bit of clearancing of the calipers.
