    Rear hatch seal question

Have cleared off the rear shelf of mankey carpet and 40 year old polystyrene bits to discover a rusty arse-end! Step 1 is to re-new the rear hatch rubber as it's got about as much flexibility in it as a 90 year old's hip! So.. should I go for VW Heritage's Genuine VW Brazil one or CandC's German...

My Bay has a Splitty Bumper!

I've found out the bumper I have on the bus is from a 66/67 Split and I'm not sure what to do with it. It's pretty solid apart from one of the brackets which is a bit ropey, I know I could grind out the brackets and re-drill for Bay irons but I'm worried I might screw it up and ruin a decent bit...

    Heating duct sealant

Hello, I'm ready to start putting the interior back together. First step is the heating ducts, can anyone tell me what type of sealant is used between the ducting and the bodywork? I know there was a load on there as I had to scrape it all off to fix everything!! Cheers Monkey

Seat belt mounts - do I need to weld?

I have been researching how to sort the seat belt mounts in the rear of the bus. All the factory mounts are in place with the exception of the wheel arch ones which were replaced with a blank plate as they were rusted out. I have seen spreader plates with a nut welded on on ebay and my question...

How close to the engine can I safely weld?

I've just taken the carpet up from the rear shelf above the engine bay and it's pocked with rust holes where the rear seal is buggered. Obviously this sits directly above the engine so do I need to take the engine out to weld this or would it be safe? I'm thinking I might just use aluminium mesh...

    Dash smoke on reluctant startup

The camper's been standing for a while so I thought I'd give the engine a bit of a turn over. I recharged the battery and it took a while on the starter motor to get firing. Just as the engine fired up I noticed a whiff of smoke from behind the dash, now obviously the amount of time I had the...

Can't be arsed to sand any more!!

Started rubbing my wheels down for a cheeky respray and after taking a week to get a quarter of one wheel done I've realised what an arse of a job it is :? ! Anyone know of a decent media blaster and powder coater in the Brighton/Sussex area??

    Danbury interior templates needed.

Are you in a hurry? I'm in the process of taking my seats apart to refurbish them so I can take measurements as I go. Problem is I have two girls under 3 so the chances for me to get much time in the garage are sod all and bugger all at the moment!!

    bamboo shelf in a deluxe

Cheers for that Stuf. I think my problem is going to be that the end brackets will sit right where the door vents are. I took the shelves back to VW Heritage and they were reluctant to take them back, telling me they'll fit and I shouldn't believe all I read on forums!!!

    bamboo shelf in a deluxe

Merry Christmas everyone! The Mrs bought the camper a bamboo shelf for Christmas but it didn't come with fitting instructions. After a search up on the Internet I am now wondering whether it will fit in my deluxe bus particularly as it seems to fit on the ends of the heating channels which are...

    Any survivors?

I remembered to get out and tighten all the straps on the cover before I went to bed, reckon I got wetter doing that than the bus got all night.

The culprit that ruin Brighton Breeze for me

If it's any consolation, I remember walking the entire length of the line up and then seeing your bus right at the end, and thinking "I hope mine looks like that when it's done!" Glad you made it in then end and hope that your drive home was uneventful.
