Thinking of buying both, the phone for the wife, the 7 for the family to use.

Apple gear is just too expensive and I like Android.

Any opinions?

Ive got a couple of galaxy tab 2's , they are great and use android daily aswell

Don't think you can go wrong with the nexus either

I have both and the wife has the 4. Superb bits of kit. There are better android phones out there but for the price you just can't go wrong. The latest 7 has a great screen much better than the 2012 version and is great value for the spec.

We've got a Nexus 7 and it's great. Can't go wrong with Android as far as I'm concerned!

I have a Nexus 4. Very good and way better than iPhone (which I used to have) - plus Kit-Kat is way better than iOS7.

Maybe get the new Nexus 5 as it further refines the 4 :)

I've just ordered the Nexus 7 2013 model for my daughters Xmas present - I'm sure she'll be happy and we will too - might get to use the iPad for once!

I got the 7 last week as a present to myself and im afraid its going back, the touch screen sensitivity is terrible and sometimes i have to hammer the screen to get it to register. i know its not the same on all Nexus 7s but there are a large number of people experiencing the same issue as i have found on searching forums. An update to 4.4 Kitkat didnt fix the issue either. I remember there used to be a set sensitivity feature in the settings but that seems to be long gone.

Its a shame really as its lightening fast and the screen is exceptional, the big drawback for me is no wired output to HDMI as my TV doesn't have the wireless tech for streaming, and i dont fancy buying a new TV just for that just yet.
