    Boardmasters 2017

Do any of you on here go to the Boardmasters surf festival in Newquay? Looking at going to the one next year, not for the music side but the surf etc.. Sent from my Siswoo C55 using Tapatalk

    Standard Oil hose size?

I'm not sure thickness is relevant. You just need a hose with the same bore that has a temperature rating up to or above about 100c and pressure rating of 100psi or more. I've got push fit aeroquip 400 series fittings on my oil lines, not sure if the hose is suitable for barbs etc. But its this...

    Tow bar mounted bike rack

The weight won't make much difference. I've had a few bikes on a rack on the back of mine and no performance or significant fuel economy difference noticed, went over hardknott and wyrnose pass in the lakes like that! That's unlike the yaris I also had at the time, which struggled to hit 50...

    Breakdown cover

I've been with RAC for a few years now, personal cover like above. Most stand alone break down coverers won't cover vehicles older than 15/20 years on a vehicle only policy hence personal cover. Called them out a few times, always been with me within about 30 mins, and took about 30 mins more...

    Rear side 3/4 window

Just did the 1/4-3/4 on my sliding door last week, very very hard work. Cant open my 1/4 yet either. Cos its all that bloody tight its stuck shut. Just used the usual string and copious amounts of silicone lubricant. You really need 3 pairs of hands, 2 as a minimum. Use a decent sized string...

Twin Carb Suggestions - (Or Wanted)

I spotted these on eBay the other day.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222201027436" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; From what I gather they fit on the Weber 34 ICT manifolds etc. What I have read suggests 34 FRD Dells are supposed to be quite a bit better than the Weber 34ICT's...

    Sometimes The paranoia pays off!

Good find there. Must have good eyes to pick up on them. What you going to replace it with? Aren't all the stock cheap ones poor these days? Sent from my Siswoo C55 using Tapatalk

Oil light slow to turn off from cold

Sounds a bit odd that. Do you have a multimeter? If so, disconnect the wire to the switch at the engine block. Set the meter to continuity, start it up and put one lead from the meter to ground and the other to the spade on the switch. Does it beep or read short 0.00? If so then the switch...

    Lubricating Doughnuts!

But why would you want to lubricate them whilst in place. Talc is used to allow easier assembly, not for continuous lubrication? Sent from my Siswoo C55 using Tapatalk

    Spring plates

Release the handbrake, it should drop down much easier then. I presume you have undone the clamp bolt or whatever you wish to call it on the spring plates? Sent from my Siswoo C55 using Tapatalk

    headlight upgrade

I'm not sure if I'm missing the point here.. But I only installed 1 relay. Which means the supply to the original relay is now fed by a single relay controlled by the dash switch. The problem with the original set up was that all the current for the lights passes through the switch, which tends...

    Sealed headlight

You can buy two universal 7" h4 units for about £25. They will fit into the old housings. I bought Cibie H4 ones from Larkspeed but there about 3 times the price, although there supposed to be some of the best H4 unitsm Sent from my Siswoo C55 using Tapatalk

    Steering column fault

I wrapped the top part of my column in a piece of black vinyl. A4 size sheet of eBay will do it. Looks almost invisible, but fairly neat. Took me bloody ages to figure out what was causing the problem! Sent from my Siswoo C55 using Tapatalk

In-Line Fuel Filter - Recommendations Needed

Cheap plastic ones from GSF do me. Just make sure they are well secured. There are quite a few fuel pumps that have inline filters before them anyway, but I've got a GSF plastic one, followed by a fuel cut off solenoid, then fuel filter mounted to my Facet Posi-Flow, then filterking. Excessive...

    Fire systems

Should definitely be a sticky that one.. I guess one of the big problems is once a fire burns through a fuel pipe then you have a constant source of fuel, so I would suggest to everyone to put a fuel cut off solenoid just after the tank so that at least one source of fuel is removed if you do...

    Fire systems

Just spotted these. http://prestigesafety.co.uk/newsite/fireball.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Look pretty similar to what you have fitted Stu, but even cheaper. Obviously not tested one of these ones, which appear to be made by a company called AFO. Looks like it...
