    OG stereo blank off plates

    Found this in the US for you. Mighty pricey though :shock: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/VW-AirCooled-Bus-Radio-Delete-Plate-68-79-/231013558071?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35c97b2737&vxp=mtr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

    '70 Bay

 Wow thanks very much Kosytoes! Since I'm waiting for parts to rebuild the engine I will draw these up and be ready for some summer fun of fabricating. I will definitely find a better way to bolt it to the bumper mounts though. It's amazing how friendly complete strangers on the other...

    Fire wall in a 68?

I'm looking for one to fit an early '68 as well. I noticed that there are several different ones though, so make sure you get one that fits. Here's a proper firewall for a 68 ... note that both of the upper corners are chamfered the same. This will come from a late '68 to '70. Here's a...

    1970 White Westy via California

Great progress Max! I am going through much of the same rebuild as well. Question for you ... have you test fitted that new firewall? I am looking for a firewall to fit my '68 but heard that a '71 firewall is one year only. The reason why I ask is because your new one looks just like this '71...

    OG stereo blank off plates

Not sure what the shipping would be for you but they come up often enough on The Samba. There's one there now but has a hole drilled in it and asking $36US! I found a nice one for $10CAN, faded and all so it looks original to my bus. I will keep an eye out for you.

    Best bodges

A mass of blue duct tape holding a make-shift screen on the fan shroud, orange rubber hose and electrical tape on the oil breather and household vacuum hoses to the heater boxes wrapped in more electrical tape ... what was the PO thinking??? He also thought this was a good fix for a broken...

    '70 Bay

A shipping price of £400 is too high to send it all the way to Canada ... but I would appreciate some basic measurements and closer pictures of it so I can fab one for myself. Online there's lots of information about "roo bars" but this one is the best I've seen. Great progress Kosytoes :D

    '70 Bay

Hmmm I wonder what shipping would cost all the way to Canada? :? It sure would make a good story rather than having one built here ...

Awesome project Jon! If I lived closer I'd buy that front end guard ... would love to see it on the front of my panel. Looking forward to following your progress :D

    Beam adjusters

If it's Avis adjusters that you're referring to, I remember that you get about 15 to 17cm worth of total adjustment. I've seen two different models of these, one with many small notches and the other with fewer large notches so there will be a difference per notch depending on the type. Sorry no...

68 Kombi projekt is now 70 westfalia

Not sure how low you want to go but this is my '68 after lowering one outer spline in the rear and welding in front beam adjusters. This was a 2.5" drop in the rear and 3" at the front ... but I plan on lowering the front a bit more. Shorter shocks were the only other modification but they...

    15" Narrow-Five (5x112) Steel Wheels

Oops my mistake. Just went out to have a look at the beetle and you are definitely right! Not sure what I was thinking :?

    15" Narrow-Five (5x112) Steel Wheels

Beetle wheels are exactly that ... but not sure if I'd use them on a bus. Strength, width, lip style and offset should all be checked.

    My 1968 Panel

I'm looking to lower my front end just a little more but not as far as yours since I'm rolling new 186/65R14s up front. Nice van :D
