If it is a security feature, then the wire should connnect to the same coil terminal as the wire from the dizzy. If you connect it to the other side you could cause damage to the wiring loom/ ignition switch because the circuit feeding the coil/carb is not usually protected by a fuse as an...

Well i'm almost in a position to drop the front beam so i can fit some adjusters. The only things left to do is remove clutch cable, easy!, but what is involved in removing the front gear linkage??, is it going to be one of those jobs that you think will take 5 mins and ends up taking 5...

My company car is up for renewal next year, think i'm gonna get one of those really crappy ford fusion diesel things. The money i save on fuel and company car tax, i will then cane in my bus and tr6 :twisted: :twisted:

Its usually caused by a hole in the exhaust system, check your header and silencer etc for blown gaskets, holes etc.

I think there was more oil on the outside than on the inside :lol: I bet there was no service history on that one!. You might be better off sourcing another engine to get the van running again and perhaps rebuild that one as a spare, might take you a year to clean the parts :wink:

Cheers Araon, i always automatically think of lowering not raising when thinking this operation out. You are right in saying its a matter of playing around with the inner/outer spline combination before you get the right height for your individual bus :wink:

No!, i dont remember having to disconnect the cable or remove the drum, just leave the hub connected up and push it to the side and support it on something.

On the plus side if you are glazing the whole van, the front screen is really easy to fit and you can use a piece of rope on that one. I reckon it took less than 45 mins to fit and that was my first one. Hopefully this will help average things out :roll:

Re-fitting the side windows is an absolute pig the seals are extremely tight, tight to the extent that you wouldn't possibly think they would go in. I found that using a good lubricant (out of date E45 cream lol :lol: ) and a large chunk of 3x3 fence post as a thumping tool to force the windows...
