    How low will avis go?

As some of you will know i am in the process of trying to fit some avis adjusters to my front beam. The garage is a tip and there is grease everywhere, i have managed to drill out the crimps which hold the torsion leave mounting rings in place but after much hammering, greasing etc it is...

    Front shift rod removal

Popped out, whipped the stick out, cut the wire, undid the bolt and slid the rod out no probs :D . My front beam is now in bits and i am in the process of drilling out the crimps which hold the torsion bar stay bracket in place. The weather sucked today tho and decided i wouldn't know if i...

    cut off switch

If it is a security feature, then the wire should connnect to the same coil terminal as the wire from the dizzy. If you connect it to the other side you could cause damage to the wiring loom/ ignition switch because the circuit feeding the coil/carb is not usually protected by a fuse as an...

    Front shift rod removal

Well i'm almost in a position to drop the front beam so i can fit some adjusters. The only things left to do is remove clutch cable, easy!, but what is involved in removing the front gear linkage??, is it going to be one of those jobs that you think will take 5 mins and ends up taking 5...

    Backfireing

Its usually caused by a hole in the exhaust system, check your header and silencer etc for blown gaskets, holes etc.

    Engine's out!

I think there was more oil on the outside than on the inside  I bet there was no service history on that one!. You might be better off sourcing another engine to get the van running again and perhaps rebuild that one as a spare, might take you a year to clean the parts

    Rear suspension

Cheers Araon, i always automatically think of lowering not raising when thinking this operation out. You are right in saying its a matter of playing around with the inner/outer spline combination before you get the right height for your individual bus

    Rear suspension

No!, i dont remember having to disconnect the cable or remove the drum, just leave the hub connected up and push it to the side and support it on something.

    Rear suspension

    1. Jack up van 2. Fit axle stand 3.Remove wheel 4. Remove shock absorber 5. Undo the three bolts which attach the rear hub assembly to the spring plate. 6. Carefully move the hub assembly from the spring plate, taking care not to damage the copper brake pipe and support hub on bricks similar. 7...

    Side 1/4 windows

On the plus side if you are glazing the whole van, the front screen is really easy to fit and you can use a piece of rope on that one. I reckon it took less than 45 mins to fit and that was my first one. Hopefully this will help average things out

Thanks for that, will give them a bell this week  .

    Side 1/4 windows

Re-fitting the side windows is an absolute pig the seals are extremely tight, tight to the extent that you wouldn't possibly think they would go in. I found that using a good lubricant (out of date E45 cream lol  ) and a large chunk of 3x3 fence post as a thumping tool to force the windows...
