    1600 to 1641?

I'd stop at 1955 because it's a good compromise between economy and power/torque, theres just no point in spending £500 on a 1641 when you get no benefit. I've run a 1600,1641 and 1776 and was very little between all of them. It wasn't till I fitted a 1955 that it became a worthwhile upgrade, it...

    Wandering lowered bay.

The problem has already been discussed and it's the Castor angle that's the problem, when we go and lower our bays it ***** the castor angle up so will not drive in a straight line anymore and the steering wheel will not auto centre anymore. The only cure for this is a castor adjustable beam...

    1600 to 1641?

Wouldn't bother with a 1641 at all, still no torque, if you want some real performance go for at least a 1955, lots of torque to get up those hills and extra speed aswell :-) and won't cost you much more than a 1776 !

    Decent 1641 wanted

Firstly why a 1641 ? They are not much better than a 1500/1600 and why would you want to replace your gearbox ? If you're going for a stock 1600 keep the gearbox and save the time and money changing it. On the other hand if you want to get up hills spend the money and go for a larger engine with...

4" narrowed beam and dropped spindles - what brake hoses?

Thanks Alex, as I said before they are too long for a narrowed beam and foul the steering gear, I'm looking into either a shorter hose or maybe a hanger that will suspend the hose out of the way

4" narrowed beam and dropped spindles - what brake hoses?

Nice one Alex :D do you know what lengths they are ? Which are the shortest ?

4" narrowed beam and dropped spindles - what brake hoses?

Just thought I would add my bit to this, the MOT man didn't like the standard rubber hose on my bus because it was touching the steering components, being too long didn't help, I only escaped because it was wrapped with a plastic spiral that is supposed to prevent chaffing. I'm on the look out...
