    Pop up easy or not?

We spent a long time deciding on changing the colour scheme from brown/white to blue/white as we wanted the van to be a fun colour and are really pleased with the finish. The canvas is straight sided but when the roof is up the brown/yellow/white canvas just looks dull and wrong. Have been in...

    What is Normal?

Fairly straightforward question, I think When we bought old Stan he had already been lowered, but by how much and how it was done I have no idea. My question is what is the standard ride height of a stock 68 Van i.e. I am often asked by how much has the van been lowered and I just guess about...

    Pop up easy or not?

Our 68 Devon has now been re sprayed and is now a lovely blue and white but the roof canvas is the brown/yellow/white finish which in my opinion spoils the look of the van. We are thinking of changing the canvas to a more appropriate colour. As we stay in Scotland we do not have anyone local who...

Oil Sensor GB - 2/3d's shipped, see thread for delivery

Sorry to hear about the additional cost but I am sure with the cost spread across so many orders it won't be too high. I had my name on the list previously but hopefully you may have an extra available. Just completed a 1200mile round trip with no problems and only lost a tiny amount of oil...

    Poor running Carb

Thanks for advice. Engine runs really well before it hesitates and accelerates really well and smoothly after. Will try out looking. Down into carb but will prob need a mirror or a smaller head this where an engine hatch would be good. The points were new about 1k ago but will have a check...

    Poor running Carb

Well I could have put money on the fact that my dizzy did not have a vacuum or tube going to the carb. So I now looked again and I have both a vacuum and tube to carb lol! Took. Out the jet and blasted it with carb cleaner and took van out for a run. Runs a bit better but still has a hesitation...

    Poor running Carb

    Poor running Carb

Hi 1600cc on 68 with a standard single port engine with single carb. have an issue where the engine struggles at about 1500/2000rpm then seams to clear and engine runs smoothly, it also starts every time and ticks over nicely. Have tried carb cleaner whilst engine running but made no...

Accelerator linkage upgrade - as featured in recent C& B mag

Just purchased RHD throttle kit from Simon, I took some photos of the original linkage and Simon then made up a kit for me, I had to make a small adjustment when it arrived, but no real problem. I was not really sure what difference the kit would make, but now its fitted it makes for a much...

RAC/AA/Green Flag What are your thoughts?

Good to hear your views, we took out full breakdown and recovery with RAC so hopefully we will never need it but happy that its there when we might need it. Just back from a 700mile trip around the Scottish west coast and back down the east coast and old Stan never missed a beat, ok we were...

    Split Charger test

Old Stanley has a new leisure battery and he is also fitted with a split charger unit. When at home I have been keeping the battery on a trickle charge and the battery is holding a full charge, after a weekend away with a long run home the battery was below 12v. The battery from memory is a...
