Wd40 rather than silicone spray?

Does anyone have any advice on how to get the vertical section of rubber in the groove? I have riveted the two parts of the metal frame together and partly installed the rubber on the "C" section but the last bit is beating me!

The side one is just a flat sheet of metal with a cutout in it.

This is the plate above the passenger door on our 1971 Dormobile.

This is where the light is on our 1969 Torvette. It is a VW purpose made shape to hold the light fitting. On our 1971 Dormobile it is the same profile but it is over the passenger door with a second one over the sliding door.

I have a 1969 Tourvette petrol tank but no breather pipe! Anyone know where I can get one? I am also after an alternator stand like this

Just done it again with our 1969 Torvette. Happy to e-mail you a template to use. I use a 50mm hole cutter to cut the holes - works a treat!

Ours fit just nice under the radio.
