Pretty sure you have a MOTENT day awning .. Can`t seem to post a picture but it`s an elongated `A` frame across the front with 2 guy lines pulling the canopy taut. It attatches to the van with an awning rail fixed a few inches above the gutter , just above the side door Very simple , very nice...

My guess would be the choke is still activated when you leave the van to idle , leading to sooted plugs and the engine dying . Don`t forget the stepped cam will hold the choke on until the engine is hot enough and the throttle blipped , then the cam spins around to its normal running position ...

Any guarantee it adjusts up and runs well ?

Two points really .... I ran a 009 for 20 years but never could get it spot on - best improvement was to set the quadrant on the accelerator pump to maximum squirt . Second point being I fitted an accuspark SVDA last week and it TRANSFORMED the low to mid-range . No fiddling with the carb ...
