    VDO Quarz Zeit AKA clock

Hi, I've got a VDO quartz clock that is running at almost exactly twice as fast as it should. They say time seems to go faster the older you get, and maybe this is proof, but is there anything obvious that would make the clock run twice as fast as normal? Thanks

    What's going on here?

Hi, please excuse my ignorance, but what's going on here? is this a type 4 engine with an upright conversion? or a modified type 1? Either way, what is the box on the top of the engine bay? Many thanks

    First gear popping out

Hi, looking through the forum, and on the web, it seems that its not uncommon for gears to 'pop out' of T2s. I test drove a bus yesterday, generally appeared to be in very good condition, however, it wouldn't stay in first gear. Seemed to engage OK, got the bus moving, but just before the revs...

    1776?

In my ongoing saga to find a van, a local one has just appeared on the market. The owner says that it has a 1773 (1776?) twin cam engine, which is original. Did any vans ever come with a twin cam 1776 cc engine as stock? It's RHD, and he doesn't think it has been imported from anywhere. The...

    Yet more advice sought.

Yet another question I'm afraid. In our quest (now turning into a saga) for a van to import into Switzerland I'm lining a few up to view when I come over to the UK in a couple of weeks. I've seen one advertised down in the West country that ticks many boxes, but it would be quite a detour for us...

    More advice sought

After some good advice from the knowledgeable folk of this parish, we didn't pursue the van I asked about a couple of weeks ago. The more we found out, the less suitable it was for a Swiss import/registration. We've now seen another van, great looks, solid MoT history, even includes a Labrador...

    Spot the difference

More questions from the new guy I'm afraid... There have been some modifications to this engine, from a 1972 early bay, but the owner doesn't really know what they are. Would I be right to say that it now has electronic ignition and an electric fuel pump, also that the carb and air filter is...

    Pre-purchase inspection

Hi, First post, so I’ll firstly say hello and greetings from Switzerland. Does anyone know of, or can recommend, someone in the Essex/Suffolk area who can give an expert opinion on an Early Bay? We are looking at privately purchasing a van, then exporting it to Switzerland, where we currently...
