In my ongoing saga to find a van, a local one has just appeared on the market. The owner says that it has a 1773 (1776?) twin cam engine, which is original. Did any vans ever come with a twin cam 1776 cc engine as stock? It's RHD, and he doesn't think it has been imported from anywhere. The registration document says 1773, but I guess this is a typo? I've done all the usual Google searching and can't find any evidence of a stock 1776, but if anyone knows better, I'd love to know.

Many thanks

I think he means twin carb, they never made a twin cam aircooled engine lol. And no, the 1776 is not an original engine, early bays originally had a 1600 single port from 1968 to 1970 and a 1600 twin port in 1971, all with a single Solex carb.

However it may be the original engine rebuilt and bored out to 1776.

Many thanks, yes he said twin carb, but fat fingers and predictive text came up with cam...
