    FBH fuel tank location…

Nice install. Love the seats, are they a good height? What are they from?

    FBH fuel tank location…

OMG what a faff, cuts and bruises everywhere, but got the tank and fuel line connected up. I can't take any more, I'll try and do the electrics tomorrow.

    FBH fuel tank location…

It's a genuine 2kw I think, I saw somewhere the other day that the 5kw is quite a bit bigger. I shall try and find my fan heater so I can go in the garage Wed eve and finish it off, apparently it's going to be -1C!! (Or I could fire up the Propex - if it'll start).

    FBH fuel tank location…

Cheers Gaz, I've found a fairly decent how-to vid that says much the same. https://www.vanlifeuksurvivorsguide.co.uk/post/fitting-your-own-chinese-diesel-heater-everything-you-need-to-know I actually think the kit I got includes the harder white fuel line, I may get a better fuel filter tho...

    FBH fuel tank location…

I have now installed my heater under the R&R, it fits perfectly (luckily just misses the R&R brace by about 1mm!), tomorrow I'll install the fuel tank behind the passenger seat and route the fuel line. Any advice as to how to do this? I'm guessing it's through a hole to under the bus then attach...

Should have said, got mine from Rich Walklate, and it was an exchange.

I had my 1776 with a stock box until about 18 months ago, it was fine really, and hardly ever needed to shift to 3rd on hills, the flyer does need 3rd more often due to the taller gearing. Went all the way to Newquay last weekend at at a real 70-75 ( reading like 85 on the Speedo) 200 miles and...

    Valuation

I'm trying to value my bus based on sold prices on ebay - which is quite tricky as it is impossible to see the exact condition/spec of them. Is there a trader or dealership I could take it to that would give me a price. This is for divorce purposes and I've got no intention of actual selling...

    Engine

Nice job mate. A bit late to the original discussion re: 1776 worth it, I personally think it is, but that's coz mine came with one, the figures speak for themselves, like 90bhp Vs 40-50, only the steeper hill require 3rd, and with a freeway flier, can easily cruise at a genuine 75.

    CB Radio

Got my CB stuff today, will try and fit it tomorrow, then I can talk to truckers! It's a Thunder pole T800, was about £100 with the antenna and cabling. 10-4

    CB Radio

I'm going to have to get me a CB! Dabbled with them the 80s mainly just to chat to mates without getting told off for wracking up the phone bill, one of my mates had a massive, police station style, antenna on his house, I can only assume his dad was into it as well.

    Skeg

Yes it was the best one so far and well worth the trip. There was loads of traffic going there and back, so next year we're going up Thursday night and staying at the campsite at the Red Lion down the road. Venu was great and very chilled atmosphere. Highly recommend

Non VW …but car related advice required.

Not much help but.... I had a 530d 02 reg some years ago and my mrs used to drive it round town like an old dear for months on end, I then used to take it out and have a good laugh by flooring it on a dual carriageway and watching the giant cloud of black smoke behind me. Some years later...

    Rock and Roll beds

I have a Microbus and fitted a full width Rusty Lee bed about 5 years ago, I have a feeling that it doesn't matter that the belt reels are there but I added the seatbelt riser brackets anyway to put the shoulder strap in the right place so it doesn't garrotte you.

    Camping essentials in your buses.

Over the years I've realised that I usually over-pack for 2 night events, so I've eliminated everything that is not used and come down to the following list: 1. beer 2. chair (if there's room)
