    Tow bar

Hi sparkywig. I’ve just bought a towbar that looks remarkably like yours. Is there anything missing off mine? I have a 69 bay. I see the bar you have looks right and the brackets I have are right, I’m just not sure if this is a mixup of parts or brackets missing. Many thanks in advance

Parts Wanted Thermostat and flaps wanted

Definitely. The Mexican ones are ok until they fail. So if anyone reads this that doesn’t know, when they fail, they fail closed! What a bright idea that was 😂👍🏼🤙🏻

    I’m scared

The only time I’ve been worried was after I built my engine. I did replace everything that’s a usual problem, electronic distributor, mst drive belt, electric fuel pump and new Weber carbs. When I had my first bus 22 years ago, I just got in and drove it and worried about nothing. Now, at 48...

Fitted Power Steering - What a difference!

Hi again! I’ve just seen the pictures. This isn’t a litesteer, it’s the same eBay one I have. The motor is off a Vauxhall corsa. I like the outer casing you made!

Fitted Power Steering - What a difference!

Hi, I wondered how good they were. I fitted one on my 69. Mine was off a guy off eBay for a fraction of the price but does require DIY skills and a welder. It’s great to drive now. Have you any pictures of your install? Happy campering!

    Re wire with belly pans

I have rewired my bus, (69 Californian panel)The loom is clamped in, along that area of belly pans. Unless it’s welded in, I would remove. Also inspect chassis etc…. I had a 69 Devon which had these pans installed. I don’t like them as they hold in moisture and cover up all kinds of things. When...

    Missing thermostat and flaps.

That’s ok if you live in Texas, or some hot country. You need these to stop premature engine wear when cold. The flaps specifically direct air to the heads when open too.It is personal preference but they put them there for a reason. I sourced everything needed for my new build to make the...

    Fuel tank sender-Vw T2

Hi, Yes! I have done this. I did mine when I put a new engine in my 69 panel van. I took the tank out and replaced it with a new one. If you want to do it with the tank in, I would drill 4 corners and cut out with a jigsaw. I got a cover for it from ALANHSCHOFIELD. There’s pictures of it on...

    Ben's 72 Bay

That’s good it wasn’t anything serious. It is frustrating. I’ve got my engine from the engine shop, not got a great deal of confidence with it yet as the bottom of the case is badly corroded and when I bought the engine, they said it would take the minimum of 2 weeks before I get it. I received...

Hope it’s a simple fix. Who did you get your engine from?

    LHD/RHD conversion

Yes, what is wrong with a LHD. I just bought, last year, my perfect bus. I wasn’t sure about purchasing as it was a LHD. I love it cause it’s different. You’re hardly going to be overtaking anything, so I would just leave it as it is. It’ll also lower the value as it’s not as it left the factory
