hi passed the mot great. Got a problem though i start the engine..(1700 type 4) it starts sweet as a nut and ticks over spot on. i go down the road and when the engine gets warm and the chokes off it wont tick over and if i just touch the accelarator it revs quite high and instead of the engine...

hi thats timing out. when it backfires a valve is still open..are you sure your timing it on no 1 cylinder? it tells you witch is no cylinder on the engine tin. this is how i did mine..... find no 1 cylinder...take out plug...and take off rocker box..stick pencil down the plughole..put spanner...

hi got a 1968 vw t2 bay. also i got an empi gearlever.. with :shock: the reverse trigger on it. also i got a lot of hassle getting me gears..i can get 1st..3rd..4th..and just about reverse. is there any speciaal way this gearlever is fitted?? as i try to get her in 2nd it iis grindiing. like...

Hi I Got a 1968/9 vw t2 bay camper and am trying to bleed the brakes i started at the back one farthest away from the master cylinder..did it went to the opposite side rear did that one..went to the front and there is no bleed nipples on either of the front brakes.. how the hell do i bleed them...

hi yes it runs freely from top to bottom and bottom to top. if i connect it up and turn it upside down it registers full on the gauge. and if i turn it over the right way.. it slides straight down to the bottom registering just after the red reserve red mark on the gauge this is with the...

yes i thought it was a boom arm floaty thing. so why does the needle on the gauge go to just past the red mark when there is no petrol in it? the float inside the tube is travelling right to the top and right to the base of the tube. cheers jon

hi iv`e got a 68 t2 camper and just finished putting in the 1700 engine. wiring it all up today got everything working except the fuel gauge..there is no petrol in the tank at all... and the needle on the gauge goes up to just past the red bit (reserve mark ) so i earthed the wire and the needle...

hi cheers for the reply es the 1600 engine that was in it had an alternator . but i am fitting my 1700 engine ..witch also has a alternator. but my old camper witch was a 1975 had a regulator box...and a 3 pronged plug went from the alternator to the regulator box. ill put a picture of the box...

hi i cant seem to find the regulator box on my 69 bay. it wasnt in the engine bay wen i stripped her down...but took off the top of the dash and theres a silver box in there that looks like the regulator box but is smaller thn the ones ive see before..and there is a lot more wires on it than on...

hi has anyone got a fusebox for a 68/69 t2 bay the lugs have broke off mine. it is a 10 connector. and it has 2 lugs that bolt it to the underside of the dash. cheers swetty

hi weve had the 1700 for a while now..been in 2 other campers of ours, but we got this 1968er and id like to drop it in there. i got the gearbox as well. but there is no provision to bolt the top of the gearbox to the chassis does this matter?? i can knock some kind of mount for it. cheers for...
