Converting a sliding door to hinged doors?

Thanks CP I will definitely be doing a build thread. Got a massive amount of restoration work to do before I get to do the modifications but I will get there. Paul

Converting a sliding door to hinged doors?

When I look at some of the modifications carried out in the name of fashion such as extreme lowering etc and fitting watercooled engines I am surprised that my suggestions have raised any eyebrows. There will be minimal modifications to the body and certainly nothing that couldn't be reversed...

That is a possibility indeed. I bet they are rare though paul

Converting a sliding door to hinged doors?

I don't like that either. I did contemplate a horizontally split so the top bit swings up and the bottom swings down but I think normal splitty style doors will be better in practice. Paul

Converting a sliding door to hinged doors?

I have already rolled my van once but that is not really the reason for wanting a roll cage. I love the off-road/ expedition vehicle look and that is the look I am going for for the van. I know it may sound silly to go to all this work just for looks but just look at the trouble people go to...

Converting a sliding door to hinged doors?

I am planning on converting my bay to hinged cargo doors instead of the sliding door ans was wondering if anyone else had done the same. The main reasons for this are I want to widen the wheel base and fit wider arches and the sliding door will hit the arches. Also I am planning on an external...

I have just spoken to them an it is just the panel you see in the photo on their site. I think I am going to have to fabricate the area myself. Paul

    Cab door inner repair panels?

Many thanks. I had a look at their website but the photo doesn't give too much away. How much of the door inner does it cover? Paul

    Cab door inner repair panels?

Hi All Anyone know where I can get cab door lower inner repair panels. I do have two very good spare doors but I would prefer to keep as many original panels as possible. Paul

I am going to have to get it MOTd then which means fitting out a trailer as a mobile workshop for a bit so I can work on it at the storage yard. You gotta do what you gotta do. paul

    Baja Bus Porn

Here is a picture of my bus from the late 90s It is still at that height now but the bodywork leaves a lot to be desired. We will be getting it back on the road over the next year and we are looking into ways to raise it a bit higher. Paul

Does a bus with no engine need an MOT..

.. to be parked on the road? I know it sounds like a silly question. At the moment I am paying to store my bus in a locked yard. I don't have electricity in the yard so I would like to get it moved down to my mother in law's house so I can start working on it. I need to take the engine out...

    Sliding door just fell off

Thanks Dave That looks like the beast. Looks good quality as well. I will do a little more investigating when it stops raining to see what other panels I will need in that area. I will definitely need an outer sill as well. Thanks again Paul

    Sliding door just fell off

It all started years ago when we had or van broken into and all of my tools including generator and welder were stolen. Stealing the welder from a VW camper owner is like stealing the wheelchair from a legless man. It is just cruel. Anyway, I digress. They broke in by forcing the sliding door...
