It can be welded back in by getting a panel from wreckers-make sure the cut is made into body so you can get exact fit. Otherwise if you have doubts about integrity get some gussets welded into bottom corners. It would give opportunity for swivel seats in future.

I have a 73 as well-now in resto- 1700 rebuilt to 1800 but still with Lowlight door locks etc. Have restored 3 eatly bays for others and couldn't find one for ourselves :)

He turns 17 in May and parents are contributing-have to train them early so they don't go Japanese route :)
