1/4 light rear windows

Put some rear 1/4" windows in last week with brand new seals from Schofields but found the window is tight to open & close but does swivel with ease once open. The seal is definatly in correct but I just feel as though I,m going to snap the latch when I push it over to lock it,s that tight, I then have to go outside & push the top corner shut, Dya reckon a bit of lube would make it open easier? & if so what?

i use 'son of a gun' on my rubbers, lubes and softens and waterproofs all in one. it probably just needs bedding in. Ive the same problem on te bug quarter lights but they are getting easier to shut.
