12v led lcd tv dvd

ok, so If i was to want a TV/DVD for campin,

i can get a DVD/tv combi for £100
chuck in the 12v regulator £40 and aerial £6
not too bad.

NOW, the TV is rated at switch ON 29 watts - how long does this translate into battery drain
for say an 80amp leisure battery ?

Couldn't tell you mate, but i had the same scenario a couple of months ago.
My solution was to sell the 240v tv and purchased a 12v tv instead. Uses half the power of a normal tv which is always a big plus!
Sold my 240v tv/dvd combo for £110 on Ebay and bought a reconditioned 12v same spec for exactly the same price, also off ebay. Win Win! :grin:

Tv's are in near new condition. Mine was anyway! Screen untouched, slight Mark on the stand, that was it.
Cuts out the trouble of an invertor and excess battery usage. Worth it in my opinion.

I am talking about a 12v lcd tv/dvd ????
I wont need an invertor ??? - but would use a 12v regulator or the TV will probably only last a few months :shock: :msn4:

my question was just how long is it likely to last when switched on :D

The conversion of Watts to Amps at fixed voltage is governed by the equation Amps = Watts/Volts

Therefore 29 watts/12 volts = 2.42 amps per hour.

On a fully charged 80 amp battery, you would get in optimum circumstances 33 hours.
