As title suggests just a quick question to see if this 1700 engine and box from a latebay would fit straight into a crossover van. If not what modifications would be needed.
Thanks vwsm.

The short answer is yes, as the x-over has the 'grown-up' back end!!

As long as you have all the tinware etc, there will be no [big] problems. I'm preparing to fit a 2.0 CU from a T25, so have had to spend a long while sourcing all the tinware, mountings and so forth.

Depending upon the gearbox you fit, there may be a bit of fettling required with the gear linkage, though I think the 1700 came with a 3-rib 'box, same or similar to the 1600 type 1.

You'll need to do some wiring for the alternator and regulator and possibly need to shorten/extend wiring to coil and oil pressure sender. Depending on carbs etc. you may need a longer throttle cable too.

I'm sure there's more, but it WILL fit.

Cheers,

David
